Fernando has been involved in the commercial arts fields for 10 years, and has experience working on several different mediums from interactive, to print and motion graphics. His strengths include idea generation and conceptual work, as well as design direction and execution.
He begun his career by laying out small ads in local magazines in San Diego, California. He moved back to Sao Paulo, Brazil (his home county), and earned the position as a graphic designer for the biggest theme park in South America. He helped to create and design the visual communication for the park, and worked as the leading designer on projects for brands such as Coca-Cola, Nestle, Telefonica, and Sesame Street.
In the late 1990's, Fernando started designing web sites, online advertising, and Flash applications. This lead him to work as the lead Interactive Art Director on a project for the Walt Disney Company.
In 2001 Fernando returned to the United States and started working for and with advertising agencies. He has worked on projects for Toshiba, Oakley, Kyocera Wireless, Nickelodeon, Callaway Golf, Mitsubishi Electronics, The Hilton Hotels and Popeyes Chicken, among others.
His work has been recognized and awarded by some of the industries top competitions and publications including the Addy Awards, The Webbys, Communication Arts, HSMAI, and The Telly Awards.
Fernando is currently the Interactive Creative Director at MEA Digital in San Diego. He continues to work with different mediums, experimenting with art and technology on personal and commissioned projects.
