But in the days following, from what I've seen and heard, it is clear to me that FriendFeed is not going away, that the company's being part of Facebook isn't the end of the world, and that after nearly two years of going it alone, the time had come to make a change.

I'm sorry to say this Louis, but I think Friendfeed is dead. I think Friendfeeds future is very cloudy to say the least. But here is a light in the sky and that's Google Reader, and Google Reader will not go away, that's for sure. The problem is that the FriendFeed users don't get it. Google Reader has almost identical features to friendfeed, well most of them. Friendfeed still has some cool features that I miss, like embedding threads, permalinks and some more, but Google Reader already have a "Home Feed" and a "User Friendfeed" where all thing we share are visible. We can like items, we can comment on items and we can share them with others. Google Reader IS the new friendfeed.

This is what Posterous already have in common with Friendfeed:

- Following/Followers (called subscriptions)
- Likes (called Favorite)
- Home stream (all subscriptions in one stream)
- Excellent Comment system (almost identical with better Twitter support! Even Facebook support...)
- Bookmarklet
- Excellent email system both for sending & recieving
- Brilliant developers!

Here is what they need to do to get more like Friendfeed:
- Better profile page (maybe separate the sidebar from it?)
- Move out links to all the important pages to the sidebar. For example a link to all our favorites, discussions, all subscriptions etc.
- Maybe make the "All subscriptions" page real-time and interactive?
- Make tags like friendfeed groups. You can already see what everybody else is posting for a specific tag. Push that even further and make that one of the main things.

Can anyone think of something else? Please post that in the comments. Just like you do on friendfeed :)

Subscribe to my Posterous (http://posterous.com/people/f99VIVIGS ), I will use it a lot now when Facebook bought Friendfeed...

We're proud to announce Posterous has been added as an official Send To Location in Google Reader.

Many thanks to the Google Reader team for the honor of being included in such fine company. And thanks to our users for being such great evangelists and telling all their friends about this new functionality.

So now you don't have to add a custom site, just click the button below and you're good to go.

The png's for the chat balloons are located here:

/usr/palm/applications/com.palm.app.messaging/images/chatview

Look for chat-balloon-right.png (your chat) and chat-balloon-left.png (friend's chat).

Edit them using your favorite image editor.

Now uploaded them to where ever. Copy the image location.

Go to terminal and type:

cd /usr/palm/applications/com.palm.app.messaging/images/chatview

sudo wget (url)

Now you just need to change the name.

Type:

sudo mv (filename of url) chat-balloon-right.png

Do the same for the left chat balloon.

Now type:

sudo luna-send -n 1 palm://com.palm.applicationManager/rescan {}

Kudos goes out to DJPeterman for his help with the padding <3

I actually "unboxed" my new Pre at the Sprint Store in San Francisco on Mission Street, right across from Bloomingdales.  There were some pictures I took after I got home with easily the sweetest piece of mobile technology I've ever owned. .LAG
