Holger Schubert's garage recently won the Maserati and Architectural Digest's Design Driven award for best garage. The garage houses Mr. Schubert's 1984 Ferrari 512 BBi Boxer. However, the picture above and video below showcase a Masarati in Mr. Schubert's garage.
The contest has categories for both existing and concept garages. The winners are to be profiled in a special section in the October 2009 issue of Architectural Digest. The winners and entries can be seen at Masarati's Design Driven website.
Giulio Capua, Vice President and Publisher of Architectural Digest, says that the garage is now a space where people are finding new inspiration architecturally.
Mr. Schubert's garage is a lighted 1,200 square foot space above what will eventually be a workshop and gymnasium. There is a couch and two recliners by Toshiyuki Kita located around a metal and stone coffee table.
One wall is covered in a kind of recycled paper-fiber lapboard with a single-tier bookshelf built in. Two walls are floor-to-ceiling glass with retractable exterior shades to minimize the sunlight in the afternoon.
Above, the central skylight is divided with an aluminum enclosure for halogen lights. A flat-screen television on tracks can travel the length of the room.
Mr. Schubert's garage also suggests a growing intimacy with the automobile says Dan Neil of the Los Angeles Times. He writes that the car has turned into a work and living space.
If you're inspired, you can sign up for a test drive of a Masarati.
Update: We've been added as an official site, so now it's even easier! You don't have to do the stuff below anymore.

We're big fans of Google Reader. It's one of the easiest ways to view everyone's stuff fast. Yesterday, Google Reader added a new Send To feature that lets you post to your favorite places right from Google Reader while you're looking at stuff.
By popular demand, now you can use this new Send To feature with Posterous. Go to Settings > Send To in Google Reader and under "Don't see your favorite site?" click Create Custom Link.
Then copy and paste the values below into the custom link fields:
| Name | |
| URL | |
| Icon URL |
It should look like this:

Click Save and you're done.
Now when browsing Google Reader, you'll see a "Send To" option for Posterous at the bottom of each reader entry like so:

When you click Posterous, you'll be sent to our "Share on Posterous" page that works like our Bookmarklet. We've also revamped the way the bookmarklet handles text posts so if you don't select any text on a page, we'll still try to extract the meatiest part of the content of a page.
Of course, you can always still just click "Email" to post@posterous.com, and that will still work just great too.
Feel free to email us at help@posterous.com if you run into any problems.
