Today I want to introduce designers (design house?) Adachi Kokajyou whose works I came by through their awesome flyer designs for Angura-kei band Guruguru Eigakan. Adachi Ayame's collages are really inspiring for my own work. Here are some scans of flyers that I actually own. You can see more awesome work on their site. You can see the gallery by clicking on 美術室 on the menu.

I will introduce Guruguru Eigakan's music at some other time- maybe next week!
“You can’t just stick a rocketship on the cover of a book and expect it to sell. That’ll work for the Hard SF readership, but that’s not going to sell thousands of copies.”
This is an interview I did with Jacob Weisman, founder/publisher/editor of Tachyon Publications, a science fiction small press based in San Francisco. I think we did a pretty good job of covering a lot of topics in a relatively short space, including the economy, what it's like building a small press, and how the San Francisco media ignore San Francisco groups. Jacob also spilled some mouth-watering details about books that Tachyon will be publishing in the next year or so.
I wanted to post some news and preview pics I found on Facebook, from the talented and mysterious artist savant ANTHONY WU. I was gonna leave it to Anthony to post this, but homey seems super busy and I couldn't wait.
As his pals have heard, Anthony created the art for one of the three comics in an upcoming Battlestar Galactica comic from TOKYOPOP. I don't know many of the details except that it concerns Starbuck and looks absolutely radical. Check out these four pages that his collaborator posted on his Facebook:
Details on the book:
Battlestar Galactica: The Manga -- Echoes of New Caprica Volume 1
$12.99, 176 PAGES
AVAILABLE: April 7, 2009
PS: That last photo is Electric Ant #1 collaborators Anthony Wu and Anthony Ha, showing off their pages in the zine. I'm very, very excited to announce that another WuHa Production will be in appearing in Electric Ant #2.... a ~15 page short story by the guys will be our Feature Comic! SO EXCITED!
Holy crap, Ryan and I totally met Watchmen artist Dave Gibbons at the Cartoon Art Museum last night, and he signed my Watchmen button, and I photographed him standing next to the Rorschach costume from the Watchmen movie. Pretty good night.
Another horrible comic of my youth. I'm still not sure if the "cram every possible thing that happens in the comic on the cover" design really works, but I bought it anyway, probably coz of the promises of nudity.
In addition to the cover I blogged about already, here are a selection of spot illustrations Laura did for the Universal Sadness issue. Looks like they got her to do ALL the illustrations (in addition to the Sadness Meter by Johnny). The whole thing is online at Viceland.
