Journey Without Distance by Peter Demers
(download)

This is the epilogue from A Course in Miracles, the section entitled,
Journey Without Distance.

Years ago I conducted an introductory seminar on A Course in Miracles.
I developed a format that went like this - I would tell the basics of
where and how the Course came about, then the story of how I got
started with it, then I would read the epilogue, then the intro to the
Course. After that, there was no script. I would give a bit of a
summary and offer to answer questions or have others tell about the
experience with A Course in MIracles.

So, I thought I would start this out with a reading of the epilogue.
It's not perfect, but I'm exposing to the world as is anyway. I may
redo it when I get a chance.

Acim Speaks - Episode 2 by Peter Demers

The second installment of the ACIM Speaks audio blog.

The transcript for this installment:

Since I began this podcast, in the first episode, with the Epilogue,
Journey Without Distance, I'll continue, in this episode, with the
Introduction from A Course in Miracles.

These two pieces of the Course are the foundation on which the Course stands.

Many of you have heard the Introduction from A Course in Miracles read
by many voices by now, and have even read it many times yourself. I
know I have. I even have a favorite, but I'll save that for another
time. For now...

This is a course in miracles.
It is a required course.
Only the time you take it is voluntary.
Free will does not mean that
you can establish the curriculum.
It means only that you can
elect what you want to take at a given time.
The course does not aim at teaching the meaning of love,
for that is beyond what can be taught.
It does aim, however, at removing the blocks to the
awareness of love's presence,
which is your natural inheritance.

The opposite of love is fear,
but what is all-encompassing can have no opposite.

This course can therefore be summed up very simply in this way:

Nothing real can be threatened.
Nothing unreal exists.

Herein lies the peace of God.

Amen

Backstage in Moscow. Richard Branson is speaking before me. He asks me if I ever fly Virgin; I admit that I never have. He asks me to try it. I say to him:  “If Richard Branson asks me, I guess I have to.” He then gets on his knees and starts polishing my shoes with his jacket in order to convince me. Can it get any better than this?
