Lou Heldman is Distinguished Senior Fellow in Media Management and Journalism in the Elliott School of Communication, Wichita State University.
He is communication adviser to Dr. Gary L. Miller, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs and Research. In that role, Lou created and serves as Executive Producer of the television show, Wichita State & the World, seen locally on Cox Cable and nationally on the Research Channel.
Lou retired in 2007 as president and publisher of the Wichita Eagle and Kansas.com, concluding a 35-year career in newspapers and a dozen years in web sites.
He was publisher and president of the Centre Daily Times in State College, PA and served as an editor at newspapers in Tallahassee, Miami, Fort Wayne and Detroit. He also was on the Knight Ridder corporate staff as director of the 25/43 Project.
