I'd like to keep things simple in this sophisticated world because I am, well, pretty simple. How easy is it to live a life that gives you a sense of purpose but lacks modern amenities? I'll try to find the answer in this blog.

As for my interests, besides "spices of life" like music, movies, and reading, I like technology though I find it hard to keep up at times. I'm also very much interested in topics related to the brain and forms of intelligence (psychology, philosophy, computing, etc.). I consider it a feat to understand your own self before others'. Hence I won't, in the foreseeable future, stop developing myself each and every day.

All of this has led me to choose a career in teaching. This idea might seem foreign to those who (claim to) know me personally, considering that I am quiet by nature. The truth is I "talk" a lot in my head, so to speak, and I want to share great ideas with people, provided of course that they are willing and open-minded listeners.

And I can't stand expectations and assumptions. Why expect a girl to be girlish? Why assume a quiet person dislikes hip-hop, trendy clothes and all that? Expectations hinder the realization of your true potential and personality. I hate living up to people's expectations, especially "born loser" ones.

I think life is not complicated if we live it fully, blog about it occasionally, and keep (re)defining it daily. That's why I'm committing some of my thoughts to writing here and hope you'll find them useful, for what it's worth.
