Bangkok Recorder was first published in the year 1844 by Dr. Dan Beach Bradley as what became Thailand's first Thai language newspaper. It was published in English as well. The Bangkokrecorder webzine was created in 2003 by a group of expats and Thais who got sick of the lack of a reliable online source for nightlife and other Bangkok information, especially in English.
