MY Group:
Fighting Ignorance

Born on the 4th of July,
in the state of Tennessee.
Raised as a holy roller,
till I just had to flee.

Put out my thumb,
and away I went.
Ended up in California,
with about fifty cents.

Became a coffeehouse beatnik,
down on old David street.
Until the amazing Cannery Row,
was discovered by the elite.

Went to the Hawaii islands,
on a crazy ass bet.
Sunned & surfed everyday,
this I'll never regret.

The Navy called to me,
come see the world.
Put me in a helicopter,
and away I twirled.

To the far east,south pacific,
almost to the north pole.
Then old Vietnam rose up,
and started taking it's toll.

We flew air/sea rescue,
always doing our best.
Saved all we could,
and cried for the rest.

They asked me to re-up,
I said thanks but no thanks.
then headed back on home,
to em old Tennessee river banks.

Got me a government job,
toting the US Mail.
Stayed out of trouble,
stayed out of Jail.

Raised a fine family,
with a wonderful wife.
Had a boy and a girl,
lots of love, little strife.

Lost my beautiful wife,
about eight years past.
Man, sixty plus years,
sure goes by fast.

Bought myself a PC,
quickly became addicted.
Now, to groups like FI,
I have totally afflicted.

I'm a hard core ATHEIST,
fundies I absolutely abhor.
For believing in re-hashed
myths, legends and lore.

I'll tell all you fundies,
straight from my heart.
Even if your god were real,
I still wouldn't take part.

With a god who created
a world so mean & cruel.
Where every living thing
is another's daily gruel.

So, tell your lovin god
to kiss my Atheist ass.
I'd rather spend eternity
in hell with a fiery impasse.
