Dan Lawler grew up on a farm in Western New York State with his parents and older brother. Since 2003, he has been living in Los Angeles, acting, performing stand-up & sketch comedy and writing. His number one priority carreer goal is becomming a cast member of Saturday Night Live.
At 12 years old, Dan took his second step towards becoming a performer when he played "The Big Bad Wolf" in his junior high school's adaptation of Little Red Riding Hood... the first step was a dance receital where Dan refused to dance. Dance prodigy he would not be become. But, entertainer? You betcha! In high school, Dan lead a fully-produced, five-man ensemble performance of "YMCA" to win Hilton High School's lip synch contest. After that he moved on to theatre school in New York. Upon discovering his college improv class, Dan had found his path and was off to Hollywood, and The Groundlings improv theatre & school.
Dan then began making the rounds of the Los Angeles Stand-Up Comedy circuit along side other budding comics of the time such as Chris D'Elia and Bobby Lee; in 2007, Dan opened for Andrew Dice Clay at The HaHa Cafe Comedy Club in North Hollywood. Dan has also been known to frequent The Comedy Store on Hollywood's Sunset Strip. Utterly embracing improvisation, in Dan's words, "babies, hecklers and drunks always welcome" at his shows.
As an actor, Dan has appeared in numerous films, from his debut performance as a doomed valet in the direct-to-video horror movie Corpses (2004) (V), to a turn as a ranting, homicidal, ex-convict in the 1980's era coming of age story Rude Boy - The Movie (2012). On television, Dan was first seen on "Hot Guys Who Cook" (2007), and has been working on new shows year after year, including an ensemble cast member role in "Charlie Murphy's Law" (2012) (Pilot). You also may recognize him as your friendly, overly talkative commercial spokesperson for Little Caesar's pizza (2008), or recognize his voice from over a dozen commercial campaigns since 2007.
While not professionally inducing laughter, Dan spends his spare time skiing & snowboarding whenever and wherever he can find snow. And his spare time in the Southern California warmth is spent writing, directing and starring in his self-produced comedy sketches & songs; including everything from fake news to latent hostility towards parking enforcement to the top reasons not to trust a wolf (there are more than you might think).
