Take a photograph of a mixtape you have or a cassette compilation you once made, attach it to an email and tell us a little bit about it.
Send the email, see it on the blog.
Is it from an old boyfriend? Was it for an ex-girlfriend? Did you listen to it one summer after graduation? Were you sent it by someone who wanted to expand your musical horizons? Does it reflect your tastes of 20 years ago? Do you still listen to it today? Can you even still play it? Why did you keep it? What does it all mean?
Just to be clear - it's PHOTOS OF CASSETTES we're specifically after. Not recordings of mixes.
And don't worry - it's completely anonymous. So pour your heart out and bear your soul.
You can attach more than one photograph to the email if you want to show us both sides, the cover or some detail - whatever matters to you about this tape.
This is a Music As Culture research project of the Interactive Cultures Research Unit at the Birmingham School of Media.
