Hello my name is Kris. I am a seminary student at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary. I love to learn, I am passionate about GOD and I love pineapple. In case you were wondering, my favorite band is Switchfoot. Also, everyday is a perfect day to listen to Beautiful Day by U2 (how many days were in that sentence?). The answer is 3, I did the math myself.
The purpose of this space is to sharpen my mind, explore my thoughts, and refine my writing ability. I want to learn to share and communicate effectively and I love to write, so what a better place to do that than on a "blog" (although I am not a huge fan of that term).
Standing on the Finite is a way to describe living. All life has a beginning and an end. All life is essentially moving on a line, a finite line. Standing on the Finite is in reference to man’s limitations, specifically the difference between mortality and immortality.
James declares in 4:14 -
14 yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.
Where is GOD in the finite?
While I am standing on the finitude of life, GOD is not limited by time, the clock or by the pressure of failure. He is able to see the past, present and future. However, GOD is not simply watching. He is active and moving. It is this movement from GOD that I have hope. Hope in the future. Hope in salvation. Hope in love. Standing on the Finite is not a depressing thought, but a hopeful one. I am free to live without the worry of time, without the fear of death, and without the worry of two little hands dictating my end.
Psalms 46:10 -
Be still and know that I AM.
