Hi, I'm Rosalind Hughes. I am 30, female, and I live with my parents in a coastal town near Blackpool, in the "red rose county" of Lancashire, in England, UK.

I am registered disabled due to several illnesses, including chronic severe pain, asthma, diet-controlled type two diabetes, hypothyroidism, (underactive thyroid gland) osteoporosis, Raynauds syndrome, non-epileptic attack disorder (NEAD), borderline personality disorder, depression, agoraphobia, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) & poor mobility. (I walk - badly - with a stick.) The problem with having so many illnesses, is that if you have a good day with one, you'll probably be having a bad day with something else! I've never been able to work - in fact, I had to leave school early - two weeks after I turned 15 - because of my health. Because I left before exam time, I have no qualifications, even though I was a "grade A student". There's plenty of things I would have liked to do - particularly in the healthcare sector (ironic, I know), but there's no point dwelling on things that I can't change.

I have five pets: my gorgeous new Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy Stanley, my grumpy corn-snake, Gerty and my three cheeky rats! Gerty is a very crotchety reptile, who makes it known when she's not happy and is always thinking of when her next meal is coming! I have been keeping fancy rats since 1994, and I currently have three young boys who were born roughly around mid-August 2008. They have been named Arthur, Teddy and William - all posh names, I think you'll agree! As you can probably tell, I'm very much a "rat person" - you only have to look at my domain name to see that! I did have dogs - a whippet called Daisy, then a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy called Rollo - until recently, but Daisy died in May 2009 aged 9 then Rollo died in July aged just 10 weeks . I miss them so much, but I know they'll be looking after me - and little Stanley - from wherever they are now.

I'm a witch! Yes, you heard right! Since mid-2006, I have lived my life following the path of the Solitary Eclectic Wiccan, and I very much enjoy it. I love all the stereotypical 'witchy' things - divining with angel cards, a pendulum, 'witches runes', and learning the Tarot, scrying with a crystal ball and runes; collecting ornaments and tools to go on my altar (in my bedroom), books to nourish me spiritually and help me learn the Craft, and celebrating the eight Sabbats of the year, and the Esbats on each full moon. Sadly, I am unable to turn people into frogs - never mind, eh?!
