I love to cook. Whenever I don't know what to do next, I cook something. Thus the Emily the Cook blog -- I find that I improvise quite a bit and my creations are ephemeral, so this is a way of being able to refer back to them. Last year I bought a 7 quart Le Creuset pot (flame red of course) which turned out be the best-loved thing in my kitchen. It suits my style of cooking for many nights or many people.
My original blog relates to thoughts about subjects I'm studying in graduate school. My course of studies at SJSU's School of Library and Information Sciences has been that of a generalist. I am open to working as a reference librarian, but I am also interested in emerging technologies and how they can connect libraries with users more successfully. For my final project, I am meditating on the 14 competencies by choosing evidence, out of all the papers and projects I have completed, that supports each of these competencies. I will write an essay on each of these competencies that shows my interpretation and definition of that competency.
My third blog, Life is Miscellaneous, is reserved for scraps (photos, musings, etc.)
