Quite disappointing. The film started off brilliantly, in a Dead Rising inspired kind of silly way. Unfortunately, the movie went downhill once the main characters came into contact with other survivors (I am Legend, anyone?). Please leave your romance, social musings, and Bill Murray jokes at the door. They don't belong in a zombie apocalypse.

Such wasted potential. It's very rare to have zombie movies with a sense of humour (Shaun of the Dead). However, I did quite like the finale act. Although Zombielands was released in the States way before Left 4 Dead 2 came out, I couldn't stop thinking to myself: "Omg, real-world Dark Carnival".

Go rent the movie once it's out on home video. Not worth ticket price.

Here's some free publicity for ya...

I tweeted about it earlier but that was when we had the whole frozen tweets thing going on, and I felt like writing about it because I thought it was really good. Plus, who wants to hear about business, marketing, success, and everything else all the time? Sometimes we just want and need some variety...

So going into it, I thought it was going to be like some other zombie movies I've seen in the past. Definitely was wrong on that one because this is actually one of my favorite movies to come out this entire year! Woody Harrelson is hilarious, so is the other main character, not sure what his name is. And so are the other two that you'll come across in the movie.

While at the same time it's gory and probably not for those with a weak stomach, it's also funny at the same time. I key it the word "Zomedy". Yes, that's an actual word, well, sort of.

I give Zombieland a 9.5 out of 10. Heck, I'll just make it a 10 out of 10 since we're so close to it anyways. If you're looking to do something this weekend and want to head out and see a movie, like gore, and love comedy, check it out. Just make sure you can stand some cussing as well because it's got quite a dirty mouth...

DISCLAIMER: Dear FTC...I was not paid to do this review and/or give out my endorsement of the newly released film, Zombieland. Hence the word *free publicity*. Thanks

Rule # 72:  Mikey likey and you will to.

Everyone and I mean everyone, laughed out loud during this movie.

Woody Harrelson was perfect in his role as Tallahassee:  “all I wanted was a Twinkie.”

Jesse Eisenberg, Michael Cera’s stunt double was also very likeable in his role as Columbus.

Emma Stone as Wichita proves fast girls move faster when there’s a zombie on your tail.

And my how that kid from Signs, Abigail Breslin, has grown up fast. She was Little Rock and will rock your world.

This movie succeeds because it never takes its self seriously.  For instance there is a wonderful cameo by a wonderful comic actor that leads to a wonderful ending but I won’t spoil it for you.  You’ll have to see it for yourself.

This movie is not all guts and gore and Shaun of the Dead but is simply a laugh out loud fest.  In these desperate times, maybe this is what we all need right about now.

4 out of 5 stars.

PS:  Heavy Metal soundtrack works wonders for this movie.  Van Halen’s Everybody Wants Some is a scene stealer just like it was in Better Off Dead.

It doesn't happen often, but there are four movies opening on the same day (this Friday) that I want to see.  Each one has either the right director, actor, or subject matter to draw me in.  In the cases of Zombieland and Capitalism, it has to with genre... I love zombie flicks and political documentaries.  Invention has the comedic genius of Ricky Gervais.  And of course, as a huge fan of the Coen Brothers, I can't possibly miss the opening weekend of A Serious Man.  I'm having evil thoughts about skipping out on Friday and spending all day in the theater. Muah-ahh-ahh-ahhhhh!

Titulo Original: Zombieland
Interpretes:
Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, Abigail Breslin, Bill Murray.
Genero: Comedia, Terror.
Director:
Ruben Fleischer
Guión: Rhett Reese
Origen: Estados Unidos (2009)

First of all, every coming attraction they showed before the actual film, I WANT TO SEE:  Surrogates; Shutter Island; Zombieland; and others I can't remember.  All look like must see movies.

District 9 was a solid movie.  Believe the hype.  If you enjoy science fiction; action and allegory then this thinking-man's movie is for you.  With solid acting, incredible imagery and a compelling story, this movie was able to engage me and keep me entertained throughout.  I give it an 8.5 out of 10.

Suddenly I feel like eating Shrimp Scampi.
