Late last week by busy busy schedule started up once again.  It's times like this when I rely heavily on my planner.

Last Wednesday and Thursday I worked at Make-A-Wish in the Detroit office.  Right now I'm coordinating police assistance with the Wish-A-Mile 300 Bicycle Tour (WAM).  Then on Friday I went to the beach with Courtney, Annie, and Olivia... but it was way too chilly to go swimming so we only stayed for a few hours then went home.

Saturday was the 4th of July so Courtney and I went out to my uncle's lake house in the Irish Hills with my parents and the rest of my extended family.  We ended up camping out in their yard and spending all day sunday hanging out and swimming and whatnot.  It was probably the best weekend I've had so far this summer.  It was nice and relaxing and I got a lot of sun!

Today, I was back at MAW so that I could call and talk to more police officers and tomorrow will probably be the same.  I am working all day (9am to 9pm) at the Wyandotte Street Fair with my uncle so this leaves Wednesday as my only day off this week.  Wednesday will be a fun filled day of laundry and packing because early early Saturday morning my parents are I are leaving to go out to our cottage in Indian River for a week.  And I will probably be doing a whole lot of MAW work while I am there since WAM is right after I get home and I am super super busy.

Three days after I get home from vacation I will be leaving and driving all over the state working the MAW's Wish-A-Mile Bike Tour for 4 days.  As soon as I get back from WAM, I am house/dog sitting for one of my uncles for an entire week.  After i get back from house sitting, I have 6 days to have all of my belongings packed and ready to move back to Grand Rapids.

I just have to remember to breathe.

And here are some pictures like usual.  Pictures are from the Detroit Science Center, fireworks over Devils Lake, and a baby Pom shaved to look like a lion.

As of right now, my summer is 10 times better than it started off.  It started off slow but now it's really getting going.  I'm just really happy that we got my headache situation figured out and my allergies are back under control so now I'm not bothered all day with those things.

I have been babysitting and working for my uncle a lot.  Him and my aunt sell their own line of jewlery and in the summer they travel all over the state for art shows and such.  So I either go with one of them to a show or I babysit my cousins.  I'd rather babysit because then I can go swimming all day!

My internship is busy busy busy and it doesn't seem to be slowing down anytime soon.  Maybe it will though after the bike tour which is July 23-26.

Last week my parents and I went out to Grand Rapids to drop off furniture in my storage unit and I just wanted to stay.  I still can't wait to move back.

And last night was the Wyandotte fireworks.  I felt like I went to a circus freakshow, not the fireworks.  I'm amazed by people sometimes.  Lots of rednecks and scene sluts... oh, downriver you've gotten so much worse since I moved 3 years ago.

In other news... I saw Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen at the midnight premiere (it was real good) and I am now the proud owner of a venus fly trap.

I have a plethora of pictures on my phone from the summer as of last night, so here you go.

After multiple plans fell through for tonight (like nearly every night for the last week or so), I decided that I was meant to say home.

As much as I love hanging out at home, crocheting and watching tv... I feel really pathetic. I mean, I love a quiet night in just as much (probably even more) as anyone else but I need to get out of my parents house before I go nuts.

I really miss my apartment and my roommies! I miss living with two other people who were nearly always home and always up for watching a movie and random times of the day, baking something, going for ice cream, sitting on the counters in the kitchen bitching about everything to each other for hours on end, stoop parties in sweatpants, late night Taco Bell/Red Box runs, going to the mall just to walk around, or just napping/reading/studying outside in the grass. I also miss living within walking distance of a few thousand people my age who are also looking for ways to kill time.

For the last few weeks I've had these weird headaches (what I thought were migraines). I had some blood work done earlier this week and I haven't heard anything back yet. Yesterday was my first day without one so I hoped maybe that was the end of them. But now I have one.

So now I'm stuck at home on a Friday night with nothing to do and I can't even sleep because my head won't allow it. Guess I'm watching George Lopez all night.

Wyandotte's Historical Society hosted a Speakeasy downtown on Saturday night.  Annie's parents were bar tending so Annie, Jordan and myself decided to get dressed up and head down there for the night.

There were old Model Ts, Charlie Chaplin movies, a fashion show (I got third place), apple juice and grape juice (wine) and ginger ale (beer).

It was a lot of fun.  Here are some pictures from the night.

I just got back from living a night in the 1920s. Jordan, Annie, and myself spent the night at a speakeasy and had a grand 'ol time. I'm exhausted but I will most definitely post pictures soon.

Since I moved back in with my parents in April I haven't really posted anything informative so here is a real update:

The summer got off to a slow and boring start.  I was really excited about spending a few months back home for the first time in about 2 years but it wasn't really living up to my expectations.  The last time I was home for an extended period of time, none of my friends had serious jobs or were in school.  We had all the time in the world to do whatever we wanted.  I'm not sure why I still expected it to be like that since we are two years older and have a lot more responsibilities.  But I've adjusted to the change and my summer is going great so far.

When we can, we've been spending a lot of time outside.  Annie and I spent an entire day at Bishop Park just reading, hanging out and flying kites.  Then for Memorial Day, I got together with a bunch of friends at Elizabeth Park and had a picnic.  We spent 6 hours hanging out and relaxing (pictured below).

Tomorrow it looks like Annie, Luke, Jordan and myself are going to be attending the spring "speakeasy" in downtown Wyandotte.  We're dressing like classy flappers and it should be a really good time.

Since I am within my last 30 credits of graduating I cannot take classes anywhere other than Grand Valley.  This means that I'm not taking classes at all this summer.  I have been going to school year-round of the last 3 years so this is weird for me to not be taking classes this summer.  I'm also not working because I'm still collecting unemployment from when I was laid off.  Even if I did find a job, I'd have to quit soon when I move back to Grand Rapids in August.  So I'm just taking a summer off to relax.

But my sitting home, relaxing and doing nothing is about to come to an end next week.  After completing my public relations internship at the Make A Wish Foundation office in Grand Rapids, I applied for an internship in Detroit.  Not only did I get an internship in Detroit but I got another at the Ann Arbor office.  In Detroit I will be working as their graphic design and web assistant.  I'll be working on various communication projects, which include: web edits and updates, working with Google Adwords, keeping track of MAW Flickr, YouTube, and Twitter accounts, and the creation of general communication materials (postcards, web banners, images, logos, event related materials, etc.)  In Ann Arbor I will be a communication assistant and will be dealing to newsletter stories, web articles, letters, press releases, etc.  My primary focus will be on Make A Wish Foundation's annual Wish-A-Mile Bicycle Tour (WAM).  With WAM I'll have to pitch stories to the media regarding the event as well as promoting the event along its route and dealing with media opportunities.  I'm really excited about this internship because I loved seeing the Make A Wish Foundation's spring gala come to life right before my eyes.  Now I'll get to do the same thing with the bicycle tour.  Both internships are unpaid and I'm not using them for college credit, which I don't really mind because it is such a wonderful cause and it's great hands-on job experience.

As much as I love spending time at home... I'm not too excited to be living back with my parents.  After a few years of doing what you want and coming and going when you want, it's a really big adjustment.  But I know when August 7th comes I will be sad to be moving into my new townhouse.

I love renting movies from the redbox... even though Brittany and I got in a car accident and alost died this winter going to one.  I'm so glad there is one just a few blocks from my parents house!

Tonight I rented Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist.  And I got it for free!  Use the promo code DVDATWAG when renting at any Walgreen's redbox for a free one night.

Definitely my favorite thing about Easter is my Hello Kitty Easter basket full of candy (and this year a Macy's gift card)!
