26 Millionen Aktive bei sozialen Netzwerken

Beliebtestes Netzwerk sind die VZ-Seiten mit StudiVZ, SchülerVZ und MeinVZ. Im dritten Quartal nutzten 14,6 Millionen Menschen in Deutschland im Monatsdurchschnitt diese Seiten. Auf Platz 2 rangiert mit 6,2 Millionen aktiven Nutzern das zur RTL-Gruppe gehörende Angebot Wer-kennt-wen.de. Erstmals unter die drei größten sozialen Netzwerke in Deutschland schafft es Facebook. Im dritten Quartal dieses Jahres verzeichnete Facebook 5,6 Millionen Nutzer. Das sind dreimal mehr als noch vor einem Jahr. Stark zulegen konnte auch das ursprünglich nur für geschäftliche Kontakte verwendete Netzwerk Xing. Binnen Jahresfrist verdoppelte sich die Nutzerzahl annähernd auf fast 2 Millionen. Der größte Sprung allerdings gelang Twitter: In nur einem Jahr ging es von 72.000 auf 1,8 Millionen Nutzer nach oben. Das ist eine Steigerung um den Faktor 25. Damit landet Twitter auf Platz 10 der meistgenutzten Sozialen Netzwerke in Deutschland.

Is this new? Windows Live Messenger - running in a BlackBerry friendly browser

Seems to allow (or want to allow ) running a Windows Live Messenger right in the BlackBerry browser. I have not gotten it to work yet but seems as if this should.

First I've seen of a Microsoft Live Messenger client in a web browser on BlackBerry -- but then again I don't IM that much so I could have overlooked it easily.

Non fatevi ingannare: la Visual Search di Bing è solo per gli USA

Molti blogger Italiani si sono affrettati a riportare la notizia (presumibilmente recuperata da un feed reader e non verificata) della disponibilità di una nuova feature di Bing: si tratta della Visual Search, che sfrutta Silverlight. Peccato soltanto che is available in US-only right now, come hanno specificato gli stessi sviluppatori: infatti, visitando la pagina dell'applicazione dal nostro Paese ci si trova di fronte a un errore di tipo 404.

Microsoft to push mandatory Windows Live Messenger upgrade

Microsoft has outlined plans to push a mandatory Windows Live Messenger upgrade in order to plug a security hole related to a vulnerable code library.

The security vulnerability stems from the use of a vulnerable version of Microsoft's Active Template Library (ATL). A programming error involving the inclusion of an extra "&" character meant that any software packages that made use of the ATL library template inherited a critical software flaw.

Software developers across the IT industry used the vulnerable ATL library to write application components, or more specifically Component Object Model code, including ActiveX controls.

Windows Live Messenger 8.1 and 8.5 are both also vulnerable as a result of the same ATL problem. Microsoft has already begun offering a voluntary update but, starting later this month, will force users to upgrade to the the latest version of Live Messenger if they want to use Microsoft's IM service.

Users already on version 14 of Live Messenger will also be pushed towards the latest variant, version 14.0.8089, but mandatory updates in these cases won't happen until late October, as explained in a blog post by Microsoft here.

Es el peor virus anunciado por CNN.  Un nuevo virus ha sido descubierto recientemente que ha sido clasificado por Microsoft com o el virus mas destructivo que haya existido . Este virus fue descubierto ayer por la tarde por Mc Afee. Y no hay arreglo aun para esta clase de virus. Este virus destruye simplemente el Sector Zero del Disco Duro, donde la información vital de su función es guardada.
