Saying Goodbye to Ojai
Eventually, we'll be full-time in Los Angeles. Will miss Ojai, though. It's charming.

I've always thought that there is something relaxing about looking into an uncluttered, or even empty, garage. For Angelenos looking for an enjoyable weekend excursion idea, I suggest lunch or dinner at Mary's Secret Garden. The food is vegan and delicious, with many raw/living foods selections on the menu (which I appreciate), the staff is friendly and mellow -- and the best part is that, after a tasty, healthy meal, you can stroll historic downtown Ventura's main street. Charming. I had Thanksgiving there, and it was the best Thanksgiving meal that I ever had, so far.
Superbe weekend organisé par Fab, un vrai régal que de profiter en petit groupe des zones du Trophé.
Sweet ass *working* cigarette machine at this pizza joint I used to hang out at all the time in Valparaiso. Still miss the squares.
Ice cream is where it's at. Also, my kids sometimes get to pick out their own clothes.
Jen and Kris and Rick. We met Kris and Rick at the Subway franchisee expo (oh shit, I didn't tell you about yhe Subway I opened?) and ended up having dinner with them. Nice people; they even picked up the tab.
Penny in the baby swing.
Brian Fellows: "That baby is too big for that swing. That's crazy!"
Nothing witty here, just Violet climbing on something.
"When it's the weekend, I don't want it to be the weekend," said my son, N.
"Why not?" I asked.
"Because I want to go to school," he said.
"Really," I said. "Why do you like school so much?"
"Because I get to do math and play and write," he said.
"Do you like to write?" I ask.
"Yes," he said. "I make pictures with my words."
"Word pictures?" I asked.
"They're not really pictures," he said. "You have to use your imagination."
