Just take a look on Trendsmap.com!
It's a great way to see tweets from all around the world - from their country of origin - and get a sense of what's capturing people's imaginations at any given time. Also shows where the greatest gatherings of Twitter users are based (no surprises on that one). It's not the first geographic Twitter visualiser (there's also Twittervision and another one I can't remember the name of right now), but it's quite a nice one.
No surprises to see the Labour Party conference trending in the UK tonight:
Maybe a bit more of a surprise to see that it's the trending topic in Dubai, too. Actually, on closer inspection, it turns out that people in Dubai are tweeting to find O Negative blood for a woman who's gone into labour:
