It's difficult not to get sentimental. What started as a conversation on Jaiku for eight months ago went on becoming hard core fun building up the bridge between the Nordic startup scenes. Besides from all the great startups I've written about, I don't think there's been a single party or conference I haven't been at, making sure that ArcticStartup's been put on everybody's lips, laptop, RSS reader and Twitter feed.

ArcticStartup has been a great spare time passion of mine I no longer can afford. I only have high hopes and expectations for the team, thus feeling confident passing on the torch that burns for startups and entrepreneurship.

Since my heart aches for building online businesses (open for suggestions), I will stay close to the action on the Swedish startup scene here on paulamarttila.com, also found on Facebook.

To make sure you won't miss any piece of action I've also put together a great Twitter list of Swedish startups

Naturally I will continue to keep you updated on http://twitter.com/PaulaMarttila on all the juicy stuff on ArcticStartup!

Ville, Antti, Miikka and Karri, you will always stay close to my heart.

Ps. Reach me by email? paula.marttila [at] gmail.com

I've put together a list of Swedish web2.0 and mobile startups and people behind them to make it easier to follow what's in the making on the Swedish Internet scene.

http://twitter.com/PaulaMarttila/swedish-startups

This is only a start so please let me know:

- Who have I missed?

- Should You be on the list?

- Would You like to be removed from the list?

- Should I include investors?

More upcoming startups and projects:

There's a good list by @jocke of all 24 Hour Business Camp participants at http://twitter.com/jocke/all24hbc.

Hope you like it!

I made a Twitter list of great people and brands that I follow on Posterous.

I am very fond of the Posterous community because the content is really great. I hope Posterous will soon implement features that enable greater interaction and sharing within the Posterous community.

You should follow the Posterous-People Twitter list here

I will add more great people over time. Enjoy!

『Twitter Client Faceoff: TweetDeck vs. Seesmic Desktop』
http://mashable.com/2009/11/02/tweetdeck-v-seesmic/

I can't remember the last time I logged into my Google Reader account. More than a month ago, I was feeling overwhelmed and decided to significantly cut back on my subscribed feeds. I whittled down the list to not quite 150. Still too many to realistically and effectively manage. So, I ignored it for another month. Until today. I saw a tweet from @scobleizer - Why I don't use Google Reader anymore. You can read it here. http://scobleizer.posterous.com/why-i-dont-use-google-reader-anymore

I completely agree with what he said.

I'm finding the posts I need, via Twitter and Facebook.
Friending is complicated.
Who cares about shared notes anyway?

Can't wait til the Lists feature is live on my Twitter account so I can see the lists he's created.

So, if you've been feeling guilty or overwhelmed with too many feeds, not enough time or patience, join the club. And then shed the guilt and the Google Reader.

Agree or disagree?

I never understood the hype around twitter lists, since i am a seesmic desktop user and been using groups for quite some time now.

These are great help when having a huge entourage on twitter and you cant keep up with theses many tweets.

Groups and lists, especially twitter lists, have really helpful and usable functions as Scoble was kind enough to enlighten me.

Twitter's lists are NOTHING like Seesmic's lists.

  • For one, they don't just work in Seesmic.
  • For two, I can see your lists.
  • For three, I can see when you add me to a list (and which list you added me to).
  • For four, they are built into Twitter's UI.
  • For five, my lists work on my iPhone (Seesmic is not yet on an iPhone).
  • For six, I can steal your lists.
  • For seven, I can see who is following your lists.

Shame on me for my ignorance...
