After getting reacquainted with David Lynch last weekend, Brenty and I watched Lost Highway tonight.
Two observations:
1. I've heard a bunch of people call Lost Highway a bad movie. If anyone says that to you, please don't listen. To call a work of art bad is to claim some basic understanding of what that work of art is trying to do. And I'm pretty sure there is exactly one person in the world that understands Lost Highway well enough to make a value judgment on it: David Lynch. It's cool with me if people say they don't like Lost Highway. It's cool if they tell you that they don't think you'll like it. It's cool if they warn you about Robert Blake's character and suggest that he might give you nightmares. But I don't think it's ok for anyone to claim it's a bad movie.
2. This is one of the best musical slow mo sequences I've ever seen...
I've had a HUGE crush on Patricia Arquette ever since I first saw True Romance, but you know she is HUGE trouble after that magic moment scene.
