iphonemockupSo you have a killer idea for an iPhone app, but when you describe it to people they just don’t get it. Maybe you have a client that is a visual thinker and needs you to draw it out for him. That’s when wireframes, mockups and stencils can be your saving grace.

There are many different types of tools available to developers, from low-tech stencil kits to high-tech collaborative software. So I’ve rounded up a few of the more popular ones people are using specifically for iPhone development. It’s far from being the definitive list, but it’s definitely a good place to start.

I think this time of the year is full of list making.  There are Thanksgiving shopping lists and Christmas wish lists and Christmas present lists and New Year's resolutions lists and top albums of the year lists and to do lists listing what lists to write first.  I like lists.  I'm really organized and I feel pretty at home with a good list in my hands.

I love pomegranates!  They are so delicious and like little exploding jewels of crunchy sweetness.  I put all the pomegranates in a bowl then in the fridge.  When I want them, I eat them with a spoon like I'm eating cereal.  If I ever have some land, I want to have a pomegranate tree.  I want to have lemon and lime and pomegranate and peach and walnut and apple and apricot and cherry trees someday.  If I don't live in a climate where all those trees can live, I'll plant them in huge planters on wheels so I can wheel them into my greenhouse for the winter.  That's my plan anyways.

An old man lives across the street from me.  He is a Veteran and his name is Larry.  He is really nice to my roommates and I, even though we have so many cars parked outside and sometimes we are loud if our windows are open.  Larry’s wife died a few years ago but his kids and grandkids are always over, which makes me glad for Larry.

It probably won't come to much of a shock to you, but Portland is really rainy.  Really.  Since I have to be inside so much, I am going to learn Photoshop.  Also Premiere Pro.  I'm going to conquer Claire De Lune.  There's a list for you.  It's my December to learn list.

I forgot how much I like the website "43 Things." I joined the site around this time for my Introduction to Social Media course. As part of a semester long project, we were asked to join social networking pages and provide feedback on our experiences. I joined MySpace for a day, and have never felt more socially awkward. I'm not quite sure how people make that one work, but even for a social experiement I couldn't handle it. I found that 43 Things took something I have had for awhile, a list of things to do in life, and put it online in a sharing community. I enjoyed going back to my first list I made while in grammar school and seeing what I had checked off and what my goals were at that age. I feel like I am a goal-oriented person, but when it comes to a professional mindset. This site allows users to set goals for any facet of their lives. It is so easy to become busy with a hectic schedule; maybe taking the time to jot down a few goals will lead to some accomplishsments down the line.

September 13, 2009 Update: Although this dish was delicious (and quite easy to make), it was not the same Pasta alla Norma to which I am accustomed from Otto.  We modified the recipe slightly by adding chicken sausage (for protein).  We also made a red onion and red pepper foccacia (using fresh dough from the pizza place across the street) with olive oil, thyme, rosemary, kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper.

I love the Pasta alla Norma at Otto and will be making this dish at some point this fall.

The old "Kreu" got together at the beginning of the summer and made a list of things to do this summer since it is really the first time we have all been living in the same area for an extended period of time since we graduated three years ago.

There are hundreds of things on the list some simple (yoga, camping, movie nights), some are expensive (road trip, week in Chicago), and some are just weird (clog dancing, make a lemon powered clock)... then there was "make a drink called Summer Girls by LFO".

So last night we made a drink called "Summer Girls by LFO"... and it resulted in us wearing mustaches.
