I know, I know.  I'm coming a few months late to the Glee party.  But their rendition of the Queen classic is an instant win! I had the original version of 'Somebody to Love' as my ring tone for two years until it reached "friends collectively groaning every time I left it in a room" status.

Disclosure: That performance was also the genesis of my very real crush on Lea Michelle.

Fields Of Gold (New Version) by Sting

I was watching an episode of Studio 60 as part of my Halloweekend nightcap and haven't been able to get Sting's acoustic rendition of Fields of Gold out of my head.  Therefore, I'd like to do the same for you.

Dancing Shoes by Gavin Degraw

Matt & Brie came down from Beantown this weekend to kick around NYC.  No more than ten seconds after explaining how I never see celebrities, I sheepishly point out Gavin DeGraw sitting at [name removed].

I then used one of Gavin's tweets to mock Fox News and figured he deserves to have a tune featured on the blog.

(And yes Rahul....he's "finally" made it.)

Deb Talan's voice is positively haunting, but Steve's harmonies are what truly put the Weepies in a class by themselves.

I love this song for two reasons:

1)  Colin Hay was the lead singer of Men at Work in the 80's.  Quite frankly, the Safety Dance is a one-hit wonder that rears its ugly head at one too many parties I attend.  It's like [insert party host's name] ipod knows I'm in the room and immediately shuffles to 'Bad 80's Playlist.'   Good to see Colin Hay eventually emerged from the ashes to release some quality tunes.

2) I wasn't sure if starting a mediocre show at midnight last night ("The Cleaner") would give anything other than the 'snooze' button on my alarm clock any added pleasure.  The last scene of the otherwise unremarkable episode with Colin Hay in the background justified the sleep deprivation.
