I've recently begun developing a peevish annoyance at CiF, and have been turning my attention to other sources for my tango foot wear addiction. tangueras, do you think any of these would work? I think I'm definitely going to plunk down $35 for the first red suede pair...

CiF, I love you I love you I love you but

you are such an inconsistent handmade son of a shoe
you flew all this way to me, and now one of you pairs doesn't want to fit! the gall.
I am tempted to invest my future shoe monies in madame pivot... her darling diamond stud tempts me more each day.

dance to the melody through the rhythm
don't break the music up
USE the timing and the instrument and the force, and the notes, the words
often the rhythm is different from the melody, thematically
but they coexist and so can your expression thereof
find the middle ground -- the interface

dance
then stretch
then DANCE

the ankles are heavy feet soft
knees orbit
lead with your hips
PROPEL!
think of the leading hip in the turn, not the following hip
because the best thing in tango is the natural follow
let following happen in your own body as a reflection of what is happening between your partner and you; one long chain of action; you are a gooey sand that never stops listening
let your hip/upper body lead and center the rest of you, your other leg, your foot, for example, follows
when they are truly free, not attached, independent: "embellish"

dear CiF

today is that day I wait for each month, the day your dutch re-sellers update full size images of their current inventory. and, as I have been for the past few months, I'm a bit disappointed. but let's not get ahead of ourselves.

I think this might be a good place to start:
WHAT?! I found the red heel tip charming the first time around, with the patent leather black open-toe beauty, but really? did you have to add sloppy bling and a bow?
and then we have this dalmation plantation sensation; if the striped polka dot combination weren't enough, they threw in an asymmetrical strap and an unfortunate peaked satin heel cage... yes, CiF, you CAN try too hard.
they also had an excess of miniature boas at the factory... although I do see this moving in a positive direction: sticking with a theme (a smoothly opulent frill) and thoughtful details (turquoise toe box trim)

forgive me if you like this shoe, but it's really missing a large part. I just thought I should point that out.
a significant improvement. notice the piping throughout and the emphasis (ZING) that heel cap provides when used effectively...
but let's not forget that once in a rare while, sublime beauty:
and exhilarating innovation

do occur.
