About 3 months ago, spring just started in China and I was bent on getting a tan.
I went to Dalian last June in hopes of basking in the pristine but crowded beaches in hopes of scoring some brown skin, but alas, it was unbelievably chilly the time I was there and the beach we visited got completely fogged over.
Strangely, I wasn't like this before I went to China. I used to carry umbrella to block off the sun's rays. I'd walk under shade to avoid getting darker. My skin was actually milky white. I even remember going to work (which was just across the street from my house) carrying an umbrella to avoid the sun. Lord, what was I thinking?!
So fast forward to today, I am still bent on getting a tan. Since it's a lazy Sunday, I went up our rooftop to GET A TAN. I stayed there for about 2 hours. I felt like my innards are gonna get fried from the heat. I listened to Harry Potter audiobook to keep me un-bored. I just used body oil.
And yes, a tan I did get:

With heavy rainfall blanketing much of the country this month, Old Sol hasn’t exactly been cooperating on the suntan front. So we decided to give Mother Nature a little help—via a professional spray tan.
Spray-tanning technology has come a long way from its decade-old beginnings when people often complained of orange skin tones and short-lived, splotchy and sometimes smelly results. Our four female testers—most of whom were spray-tan first-timers—mostly found the fake tans looked natural and didn’t start fading until around day five, though some of us had discoloration on the hands and feet. And while we noticed our newly sprayed skin in some cases gave off a caramel or coconut scent, it wasn’t unpleasant and nobody else seemed to notice.
Maybe the tans make them lighter on their feet?
Melanie Mills, head makeup artist for "Dancing with the Stars" told Marc Malkin at E! Online that, with each passing season, the celebrity dancers and their pro partners are becoming more and more fond of spray tanning.
