The book club craze remains at an all time high for hip must join trends.
Oprah's Book Club paved way for anyone who likes to read & socialize...never one to dabble I started one, BARC, & joined another, Fog City Book Club, several years later.

But, this is about BARC.
7 years ago, 5 girls got together committed to delving into books, discussing lit & our lives with many happy additions & transitions as our book list grows & lives change.
Some months going strong & other months limping along...lit & life are very similar, sometimes.

BARC gals have come along way since our 1st book "Don't Let's Go to the Dogs Tonight" (still one of our top loved books)...55 books, 9 engagements, 8 weddings, 7 babies, moves to 'burbs, LA, Iceland, Seattle, countless job changes, new boyfriends & breakups, later, we are still together.
Only 2 of the originals remain & I love mix of new gals & books over years.

All of life events are revealed, celebrated, laughed about & discussed over long dinners & countless bottles of wine.
BARC girls tend to be more gourmet than strictly academic...making BC very yummy!

We were enchanted with "Biography of Frida" over chili colorado & "Frida" the movie, horrified by foot-binding in "Snowflower & the Secret Fan" while indulging in Chinese beef & loved planning our blogs & life dreams over french fare & "Julie & Julia".

Often, the book club discussion range from "What was the book"? to I met the author & obsessed. (No surprise, I usually fall into the latter category!)

The one constant is our underlying fascination with books & overwhelming bond with fabulous BARC gals!
