Wow!  Wow!  Wow!  What a game yesterday.  The AFC North is now owned by the Cincinnati Bengals.  I love it!  Yesterday, Cincinnati went into Pittsburgh and punched them in the face.  The Bengals beat the Steelers at their own game - great defense, field position, time of possession, no turnovers, ballgame.  I am so impressed by how this team is playing right now.  You can's say enough about the play they are getting from Jonathan Joseph and Leon Hall.  Outstanding!  I would love to hire a company to do a video highlight reel right now, because I could watch them all day long.

Hines Ward does not have a smile on his face today, and I freaking love it.  Last year, he broke Keith Rivers jaw and laughed it up all day long.  Yesterday, he was shut down, and he might need a security blanket to get his self esteem back.  Maybe he'll just wipe away the tears with a terrible towel.  Hell Yes.  I am pumped!

Cincinnati is on the rise.  They are looking great this year, and they have guys that are in it to win.  It's very difficult to sustain winning in the NFL, but if they keep this up, they are going to keep attracting talent.  With winning football teams and a casino on it's way, Cincinnati is looking like a better place to live.  Yeah, it's great for sports, but it's great for our struggling economy too.  It would be nice to have to build some new homes in Cincinnati as people want to move to this area.  It may be overlooked, but winning sports teams will bring people in.  People want to be part of something big.

So, keep it up Bengals and Who Dey!

I love the way my Bengals are playing right now.  We are 6-2 and tied with the Steelers for first place in the AFC North.  Right now, we hold the tie breaker, and if we can win at Pittsburgh this weekend, the division will be ours to lose.  Right now, I'm watching the tape of the Ravens game from last week, and we absolutely dominated them in the first half.  I'm so impressed by how the 2nd and 3rd string Bengal players have stepped up this season.  We have shown tremendous depth from top to bottom.  For the first time in a while as a Bengals fan, I can sit back and smile, while smoking a Gurkha Beauty in celebration.  Life is good.

The way our offense is playing, the Steelers may need to buy tasers to slow us down.  Carson Palmer is looking as good as he's ever looked.  He's rolling out of the pocket and extending plays with his legs.  That's a phrase you normally say about Big Ben, but not Carson.  And he's been clutch late in games.  Let's hope he can do it again in Pittsburgh.  The Steelers looked great against Denver, and they have Troy Polamalu back, which is huge. Either way, it's going to be fun to watch.

It's amazing to me the wear and tear these NFL players put on their bodies. I'm all for them getting in funds for retirement because their knees are absolutely shot at the end of a career, especially these big linemen.  They have to call these guys to fix their bathroom just so they can take a shower.  For the amount of entertainment given by these guys to people, they should get a decent retirement after their career.

Does anyone need more proof Hines Ward is the best receiver?  Watch this great play in the Steelers win over the Broncos on Monday Night Football.

Nee's soccer team, The Steelers, played their last game today. If they won today's game, they would finish the season undefeated. The pressure was high and you could sense the urgency in the players.

Unfortunately, the Steelers didn't bring that urgency on the field. When the game started, they were all very tentative and didn't attack the ball as they usually did. They eventually picked up the pace, but only after the opposing team gave them a wake up call by scoring a goal.

That kick in the pants didn't seem to be enough for Nee. She remained pretty lackadaisical on the field. Although, she managed to touch the ball a few times, she never followed through on her kicks.

"At least she kicked the ball," said Nee's grandmother, G-Mom. "That's better than nothing."

"No, it's not better than nothing," I said. "She can play better than that."

"She's doing her best," said G-Mom.

"No, she's not," replied KayEm and I in unison.

I thought things would get better when Nee moved to defense, but they only got worse.

At one point, Nee had a clear defensive stop. All she had to do was kick the ball. Instead, she ran away from the ball and the other team scored a goal. In frustration, I buried my face in my hands. Nee's coach walked by and patted me on the back.

"It's okay man," he said. "It's okay."

It was not okay to her teammates. One of the girls got into Nee's face and yelled, "What is your problem? Why didn't you get the ball?"

When the quarter ended, Nee tentatively walked over to where I was and sat down. By then, I had managed to contain my frustration and was able talk to her rationally.

I kneeled next to her and placed my arm around the back of the chair.

"I know what you're going to say," said Nee.

"What am I going to say?" I asked.

"You're going to say, 'Why didn't I kick the ball?'" she said.

"You're right," I said. "So tell me why you didn't kick it."

"Because the girl running towards me was scary," she said.

"WHAT?" I asked.

"She was scary so I moved out of the way," said Nee.

"Nee," I said calmly. "Never let anyone intimidate you."

"But..." she said.

"No buts," I interrupted. "NEVER let anyone intimidate you."

"Okay," she said.

I wanted to talk more about giving your all and helping the team, but I decided that it would be best to just give her a hug and a kiss on the forehead. Besides, the Steelers won the game and celebrated an undefeated season.
