At first I just thought it was Sean and Stu making farting noises on Twitter. But no! In fact, they were helping inflate a warehouse full of space hoppers. Who'd have thought? Nice one Sony. http://www.sonyericsson.com/hopperinvasion/warehouse.aspx

Man, the loot you can uncover when you go snooping around spec pages. That most ambitious of Sony Ericsson projects, the XPERIA X10, is still a long way from being released, but already we can narrow down the list of potential US carriers to just one: AT&T. The guys over at Phandroid were the first to spot the newly added UMTS frequency specs for the phone, and the available 800/850/1900/2100 bands fit only AT&T's 3G network.

The unit has a build on a 2.2 inch screen, 3.2 megapixel camera with
flash, UMTS, Bluetooth 2.0, FM radio, a music player and a microSD slot.
This puts the Sony Ericsson line no longer their own Memory Stick Micro
slot to use.

If your Sony Ericsson T715 is the first time would you say that it is a
device for starting mobile callers. Nothing is less true under the cover
of this compact slider houses a wide range of potential consumers of the
mid-waiting. We start with the screen, which is a standard 262,000 color
screen with a QVGA resolution (240 x 320 pixels).

I think these guys are trying too hard to apply Kevin Roberts' concept of "lovemarks" [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lovemark].

And "love" as a concept, BlackBerry? After Sony Ericsson's take on it? Really?

Just (don't) do it.

What do you know? SonyEricsson has just unveiled its first handphone built around Google's Android operating system, according a BBC News report on Tuesday.

The X10, known as Rachel while under development, will go on sale early in the first quarter of 2010.

SonyEricsson said it would be the first of a family of Android-based phones that it will launch over next year.

Would you be getting one when it's on sale?

It has been a long time since I have been this interested in product launches. However, with the recent developments in the smartphone market, it is difficult not to get enthusiastic!

Today, reports said that SonyEricsson's Android phone, the Xperia X10, has been confirmed as real indeed. Talks about the X10 are not rumours anymore:)

You can read about the X10 at Unwiredview.

So, after waiting out the iPhone 3Gs and now waiting for my N900, the question is whether I should wait even a bit longer for the X10? The important thing is, of course, that the launch of the X10 early next year adds to the diversity in the smartphone market.

The problem is; I can't wait…
