Towards a Process for K-12 Students as Content Producers
http://bigtweet.com/c/b/twitter/willrich45/2xQe

This article talks about how schools leverage the power of Wikis for curriculum and instruction. As many of you already have seen, wikis are great ways for students to share and collaborate on projects. They are constructivist in nature because the student is “learning by doing.” Furthermore, student work posted to a wiki invites constructive feedback and opinions of others, thereby extending the conversation beyond what may have originally been intended. This can lead to stepping higher on Bloom’s ladder and to better understanding and meaning of the content.

Technology Staff Development
PS. Next Wednesday, April 22, we will be holding a half-day of technology training from 1-4pm. There will be two session times (1:00-2:15 and 2:30-3:45). 1. SMART Boards – Sharing resources, tips, and tricks
  2. Digital Cameras – learn how to download photos from your camera to your computer. Learn how to upload to the online photo gallery.
  3. Online database subscriptions – learn how to connect to and use United Streaming, Facts on File, EBSCO, etc.
  4. PowerPoint for early ed (PK-2) – learn how to use PowerPoint as an interactive learning tool – this moves beyond simple presentation of information
  5. Inspiration/Comic Life/Timeliner – learn what these software programs can do for your classroom.
  6. Wikis – learn how to setup/create and incorporate wikis into your curriculum.

More later!
