Sitting in bumper-to-bumper traffic recently was a perfect chance to get the sketch pad out. Much of it was very rapid sketching - just a few seconds and the scene would change. It certainly sharpened my awareness and made the drive very enjoyable.
2B pencil; Small Moleskine pad.
I am super anal about my sketchbooks. If there are too many pages with drawings I dont like they become "damaged" and they lie fallow many pages untouched. Ive been going through these sketchbooks and pulling out all the blank pages and making new sketchbooks with whatever cardstock type covers I can find. Fed Ex catalogs, old coloring books, and whatever else I can find give these pages a new lease on life and I save on spending too much on overpriced sketchbooks. This batch is the FDNY Fire Safety Activity Coloring Book (one is even has mayor mike bloombergs fake signature on it!) an old spongebob colororing book cover and a nice skeleton activity book cover too for the holiday season.
