With at least one potential game of the year exclusively nesting on the Playstation 3 and a price drop under its belt, the PS3 has had a pretty darn good year.

My favorite among the games listed is Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, which probably isn't surprising. What is yours? Anything we didn't review that you would suggest?

Remember, the games listed aren't all recommendations. Instead we're providing this as a quick reference guide to help you decide if a game is a good gift or not.

PS3 Games on Amazon

This game brings back memories... and, yes, it does rip off Zelda, a lot, but there is more to this game too, such as world creation aspects. But a little nostalgia never hurt. Hope they make a 360 version.

Sony has some screwed up distribution strategy, with the PS2 launching in Brazil 9 YEARS after most of the world. What's worse: It will be priced at USD$465, more than the PS3 in the US!

As a user candidly pointed out on a Kotaku post about the story:
Asbestos_Underwear: "FedEx overnight from the U.S. is cheaper than that. Not even taxes can explain that price increase. Somebody is getting screwed here."

It seems as though retro gaming the only way of life for many South Americans.

FOSTER CITY, Calif., Nov. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc. ("SCEA") today announced an integration with Facebook to deliver the first phase of a variety of new features to further connect and enhance the online social experiences of PlayStation®3 (PS3(TM)) computer entertainment system owners. Starting on November 18, as part of the system software update, version 3.10, users can easily showcase their game accomplishments to friends and family, and post information about the PS3 games they purchase from PlayStation®Network to Facebook. With the new Facebook integration, PS3 system owners now have access to a truly social and seamless user experience.

With Firmware 3.10, PS3 system owners can now not only brag to friends about their domination as a gamer, but also back it up by sharing unlocked trophies with their friends on Facebook every time they sync their Trophies. The new system update also enables game developers to set up trigger points in their games that provide PS3 system users the option to quickly and easily publish game related information from their favorite titles to Facebook.

"Launching Facebook for the PlayStation community is a natural fit for our goal of delivering unparalleled connected experiences - from connecting our community to each other to connecting our customers to great entertainment downloaded from the PlayStation Store," said Susan Panico, senior director, PlayStation Network, SCEA. "As we pass the third anniversary of PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Network, we're excited to deepen the social experiences of PlayStation Network and kick-off the first phase of our integration with Facebook."

Its been 3 days since Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 launched, and im glad to say I've survived. In real life that is, not on the game. Of course 15 minutes into multiplayer I was sniped 4 or 5 times, and blown up several. But even though I've only played for a combined total of 2hrs and 12 minutes, Ive managed to rank up to sergeant which im pretty pleased about. Just before the game launched though, my Xbox 360 decided to flip me one and red ringed on me. But my trusty PS3 was there on hand to take on the Call of Duty. Only downside is, I do have a 360 copy of the game too, which means when the machine gets back and I switch over to Xbox LIVE for a game, all my stats will still be on PSN!! So I'll have to rank up all over again.

The single player game itself, even though I havent scratched the surface of yet, is stunning and already has me hooked. The story links back to Call of Duty 4, and has some nice twists and turns, and some characters you will remember if you played COD 4.

If you havent picked up this game yet, and your into gaming and shooters, I highly recommend it, You'll have such a blast.

Feel fee to add me for a game of it, on either Xbox 360 or PS3.

Not being a huge movie fan I was never interested in the service that Netflix offered it's customer.  When I read online that Netflix was going to start offering it's streaming service to PS3 users I immediately signed up for an account to test this digital distribution system.

After playing a few movies yesterday and playing around with the interface I was amazed at how simple and elegant it is.  Movies start fast, play smooth, and after a short amount of load time [5 secs] I was able to fast-forward through the movie.  It also works perfect with my console remote, so not having to use the game controller was a huge bonus.   All movies played without lag and interface responded very well while searching and adding video to the queue.  The only major downside to this streaming service is the audio within the movies watched weren't encoded in 5.1 Dolby Digital surround sound.  After googling around it appears all the movies available in the streaming library use 2-channel audio.

Pros-

Movies start rather quickly
Elegant and simple interface with sufficient meta-data
Resolution of media is acceptable

Cons-

It's a drag that you have to use a special disk for the service to work
No 5.1 native surround-sound
Currently not a large selection within the streaming library

All in all I'm satisfied with the $11.99 monthly service charge which allows me to have out one blu-ray movie disc, and stream unlimited content. Being a "free" add-on to to the disc-base rental service it's only a matter of time that these shortcoming will be ironed out, as more and more households take advantage of this offering.
