We thought we'd sneak out for a quick portrait shoot. Small selection, the final gallery will be at http://pix.marcof.net coming week.
No MUA, no artificial lights, just relaxed and spontaneous shots.
I made it over to Manchester in one piece this morning despite the weather conditions (see The Fog). Had a great session with Daniel, the aim of which was to provide a set that he could use for his audition portfolio. This is a selection of those taken today.
Hi everyone, so here are some of the portraits we took before picking up Mark Olsen from the airport. It is too bad that we didn't have time to photograph all the super wonderful costumes that Shelly hand made. Check back later this weekend for the exciting conclusion of ... The Super Long Wait At the Airport.

This series of portraits by Hendrik Kerstens are very reminiscent of Johannes Vermeer. The austerity of the photograph, its clarity, the serene expression on the young girl’s face, untouched by the experiences of adult life and, not least, the characteristic ‘Dutch’ light, all combine to create this impression.

I want my portraits to have an honest look about them, both from a technical aspect and from the point of view of the subject.
I learnt many things from out of date publications where authors stood upon well exposed soap boxes and declared that rules were not meant to be broken. The photographic sermons preached in those books I rescued from charity shops meant little to me but I have always been rather found of the illustrations; particularly the portraits.
I've tried to incorporate my own style in this self portrait, to tell the viewer something about me, purposely avoiding clean lines and highly technical lighting techniques.

I took photographs. She baked. We only knew each other for a very short time.
