What a nice idea. Posters for the current Year of Astronomy 2009 - in a wonderful retro design. Be sure to check all other motifs too.
Getting back to the first view of your App. You cannot just put that view back on top.
Most of my apps consist of a number of views. Until the latest one
(the Alcohol Units Calculator) you could not get more than one view
away from the main screen. So all I was doing was adding a view to
make it the main view and then popping it back off again to go back to
the real main view of the App.
can then Navigate to the Charts View and then to the Months View. Now
you are two views away from the main view. So you say just pop them
off and all will be well. Yes you can do this but ultimately you want a better way to do this
one that does not rely on me knowing at any point in the code how far
from the main view I am. I originally tried just adding the Add Units
View to make it the front view but that is not allowed. I then tried
popping views until I got back to the Add Units view but this does not
seem to work. Then, as usual, I thought there must be an easy way to
do this. So I checked the API and there it is popToRootViewControllerAnimated in the UINavigationController class. All you have to do is something like the following in your App
Delegate class [navigationController popToRootViewControllerAnimated:
NO]; and it will go back to the view that was set as the root in the following code: navigationController = [[[UINavigationController alloc]
