We chose iFixit author Karasumachitose’s teardown of the Sony PlayStation 3 as the winner of “Best Overall Teardown.” We enjoyed this one because it included a clear photos, well-written instructions and a complete list of tools necessary to guide a person through tearing down a PS3. A 37-step process, it was no easy feat. Way to go! (Coincidentally but fittingly, Karasumachitose wins the PS3 Slim — a skinnier and better PS3 — for a prize.)

Chances are, you want "non stop climax action" as soon as possible. Thanks to the PS3's region-free gaming, you'll be able to do just that. The game's menus and dialog, as Siliconera discovered, are all in English -- no need to learn Japanese, folks. Considering the game isn't due to arrive in North America until early next year, this import is an easy choice for those who want Hideki Kamiya's latest now.

Grand Theft Auto IV Playstation 3 deathmatch

The justification for my current addiction to Grand Theft Auto 4 on-line play is that at least I'm not smoking crack. I wish I could say the video is mine, but I'm too stupid to figure out how to record my game play. But I will bust a cap in a mo fo, fo sho. My Playstation Network ID = EastsideRJ

250GB PS3 Slim coming in November for $350 | CNET

"Sony Computer Entertainment America on Thursday announced that a new 250GB variation of the PlayStation 3 Slim will be available beginning November 3 for $349.99. The PS3 hardware will otherwise remain the same as the 120GB flavor of the Slim, which costs $50 less. The console maker will also continue to sell the physically larger, previous model of the PS3 which comes with either an 80GB or 160GB hard drive."

What's Some Good Games For The PS3?

Jag fick för ett par dagar sen hem min neGcon gamepad som jag beställde på Tradera. Var är nu en negcon undrar ni? neGcon eller ne-gee-con som man uttalar det i Japan är en special designad gamepad från Namco för racingspel till Playstation mm. Man twistar kontrollen på mitten för att svänga och det ger en häpnadsväckande smooth känsla när man driftar runt på banorna. 180 grader är max vad du kan twista kontrollen, även axelknapparna och två av dom vanliga knapparna är analoga vilket ger ännu mer precision.

Nu är det så att många spel var designade för neGcon och hade då mycket bra stöd för dom men den funkar även på vissa spel som inte har support för den. Som tur är har den support för mina favorit racing spel till Playstation, nämligen Wipeout serien, Destruction Derby serien, Ridge Racer serien och Colin Mcrae serien.

Jag har själv under dom två senaste dagarna testat neGcon:en på Wipeout 2097, Wipeout 3 och Ridge Racer type 4 och jag måste säga att den funkar helt häpnadsväckande bra! Många recensenter har kallat den ” the greatest controller ever made” och för racing spel kan det ju faktiskt vara så.

Jag hade en Joytech usb to psx converter som gör att man kan koppla in Playstation kontrollers till pc:n. Så jag testade för skoj skull att koppla in neGcon:en och datorn hittade den direkt! Convertern hade alltså support, läckert! Det enda racingspelet jag hade installerat var Trackmania Nations forver, vilket för övrigt är ett mycket bra racing spel, gratis! Finns på steam mm.
Jag startade upp spelet, utan att gå in på kontrollpanelen för gamepad inställningarna så startade jag bara upp en bana.. surprise kontrollen funkade direkt! Alla knappar och allt var inställt som om negCon:en var gjort för detta spelet!

Så jag rekommenderar helt enkelt att ni skaffar denna kontrollern. Den funkar med Playstation, Playstation 2 och tydligen Pc också :) Och jag har även sett att en kille fick det att funka med Wipeout HD till Ps3 (finns som youtube film) Thats it!

News: PSP go launches today

The PSP go arrives on retail shelves today for the price of $249.99. The feature list is similar to that of it's older brother the PSP-3000, but there are some distinguishable differences. First of all the form factor has been completely changed to make the PlayStation Portable more.... portable. They did this by removing the UMD slot and opting for download only titles via PSN as well as making the screen size smaller. Then they added 16GB of built-in storage and a Bluetooth radio that can be used for tethering.

There was initial plans to create an exchange program for existing PSP owners to receive a digital version of their game to use with the PSP go, but according to recent news via Kotaku this will not be available. This makes it a really easy decision for me... why would I buy a PSP go and then not be able to play any of my older games? Not to mention it's kinda tough to buy a PSP go when the PSP-3000 sells for $169.99 currently. I plan to do a follow up post today comparing the specs/features of today's portable gaming devices.
