#DragonGateWrestling's #Ryo-Ma, member of the S-Faction, has been charged with allegations of #animalabuse. Their #Pet monkey was abused in many ways and this is highly disturbing. Ryo-Ma has posted photos of himself and 3 other men beating and strangling the monkey. Witnesses state that Ryo-Ma beat the monkey, choked it until it passed out, got a stick and hit it repeatedly, then poured boiling water all over it. Other photos of the monkey being dragged around by a chain around the neck, forced to drink sake until it passed out, trapped in a box and then sprayed by anti-prespirant until it freaked out in the box, and finally, having air blown into his mouth forcing him to deficate himself. There is probably much more suffering that this poor monkey has endured, but this is all that's been found. Speaking from a wrestler's point of view, there is a mass amount of trust between two individuals in Professional Wrestling. However, this case makes you wonder, especially as a female athlete, what men are capable of. Animal Cruelty is a red flag in Law Enforcement as many killers, rapists, and other criminals have a past history thereof. I purchased the DragonGate PPV About two months ago and I am enraged to recently find out that I, an Animal Rights activist, just endorsed what I stand against. I can't expect DragonGate to release the men whom have posted disgusting photos and blogs about the abuse they have inflicted upon the defenseless monkey, however in the same breath, DragonGate cannot expect me, as a fan or wrestler, to look at it in the same light as I did before. In the indies circuit, "work is work"- I have learned that a woman should never have to compromise any part of herself for anything or anyone. I have things I am passionate about; components that make me, me. That builds my persona. That give me ammunition to entertain and go out there and give the crowd my all. If companies allow cases including Animal Cruelty to simply "cover up and slip away" as a wrestler, what does that mean for the rest of us? I know girls who have gotten released from other companies merely for getting drunk in a bar and dancing on top of table tops. I can't believe they would expose other wrestlers and wrestling staff to such a menace. The wrestler committed a crime in Japanese Law, Article 44. He has not been punished to my knowledge. Just another eye opener at how different the world of wrestling is from the rest of the world.
