Malibu Creek State Park
Had a blast yesterday trekking around MCSP yesterday with my son Josh and my friend Max from Switzerland. We spend about 6 hours exploring as much as we could.
If you go definitely check out Century Lake and if you're a fan of M.A.S.H. the old set but, steer clear of the Mott adobes. Not worth the time hiking to them.
Its going to be a busy couple of weeks for me traveling for work so it may take some time until I can post my shots. But, hopefully, I may have more when I return from my travels...

Sydney Park
Nachdem es die Tage vorher mit ca. 21-25° richtig angenehm war, ist seit gestern wieder eine Hitzewelle mit Temperaturen bis zu 37° angesagt. An solchen Tagen hat man hier zwei Möglichkeiten: Schnell alle Sachen packen und ab an den Strand oder irgendwohin, wo es klimatisiert ist. Ich habe mich heute (wieder einmal) für das zweite entschieden, weil ich (noch?) nicht das Bedürfnis nach einem (bei den mit diesem Wetter verbundenen Ozonwerten fast unvermeidlichen) Sonnenbrand verspüre. Stattdessen habe ich mich in das "Powerhousemuseum" aufgemacht und dabei u.a. die erste Lokomotive Australiens (siehe Foto) angesehen.
Als es Abends wieder etwas angenehmer wurde, habe ich mir endlich mal Zeit genommen, um einige Fotos vom ca. 500 Meter entfernten Sydney Park zu machen, in dem ich alle 2 Tage meine Runden drehe. Wie auch dokumentiert fliegt alle paar Minuten ein Flugzeug ziemlich knapp über den Park, weil der Flughafen nicht allzu weit entfernt ist. Unser Haus liegt, btw, auch ziemlich genau an einer Einflugschneiße, aber glücklicherweise habe ich mich schnell an die Düsenantriebe gewöhnt. Da der Park sehr hügelig ist, hat man einen tollen Ausblick auf die Innenstadt. Auf den weiteren Fotos sind zwei absolut typische Straßen zu sehen, durch die ich regelmässig gehe und in der dritten wohne ich.

Ice cream is where it's at. Also, my kids sometimes get to pick out their own clothes.
Jen and Kris and Rick. We met Kris and Rick at the Subway franchisee expo (oh shit, I didn't tell you about yhe Subway I opened?) and ended up having dinner with them. Nice people; they even picked up the tab.
