I had a few extra moments yesterday to finally do what I've been wanting to do for quite a while. I chopped off my long bangs :) This wasn't the first time that I've done this. Usually I get the feeling to do it. Then whenever I finally get a chance to shower alone (minus my little one year old) and I get a chance to actually wash my hair, I hurry up, get the scissors and GO FOR IT!

On average 50/50 chance that the bangs will be even.

I've gotten used to walking around with crooked bangs. Oh well, they'll grow back :D

Randy's been calling me Moe. Hee hee

Try at your own risk!

I gotta tell you...I feel soooooo much better. I LOOOOOVE my new bangs ala Elsie!

A Walking Chat To The Bus NaVloPoMo09 Day 21 from Elsie Escobar on Vimeo.

Not my most inspired, but this morning was tough! Just a teeny tiny walk to the bus while I blab about my lack of sleep...

The rest of the day was peachy. It's just these mornings that get me!

The Excitement of the Mundane NaVloPoMo09 Day 20 from Elsie Escobar on Vimeo.

A little bit of seeing the great excitement of daily tasks courtesy of my lovely Hunter Rose.

She makes every moment pretty darn special. She shows me so many magical moments. All I wish is to be able to appreciate them as much as she does :)

This by far is THE shortest video that I've posted to date :) I sorta like the tiny ones, it's sooooo much easier to download, edit and encode!

So, yes it rained today, but it was very mild. It was in the high 50s and felt quite sweet being outdoors. Hunter and I walked over to the bank and then on a whim went to the Wilkinsburg Public Library, which is almost right next door to the bank. Hunter had a great time amongst all the books. The library is pretty much empty, which makes it great for us, but at the same time it makes me sad that not more people are there.

I love libraries.

I got my fancy little promotional cards for my upcoming workshop in December!!!! Woo Hooo.

I messed around with Vista Print and Overnight Prints on Sunday to see which one would work for me. My workshop is on Dec 6 so I didn't want to spend a lot of money, and I didn't want to get too many of them. I basically wanted something in my hands as fast as possible so that I could promote my workshop. I decided to go with Overnight Prints. They happen to be having a sale on postcards so I ended up paying $25 and some change for 100 double sided cards and I got them today! (the $25 and change included delivery!) It was more expensive to do it via Vista Print and they charged me extra for uploading Yoga Matrika's little logo, which Overnight Prints didn't.

I designed them on Sunday night. I've never even attempted to do something like that before! It was kinda fun, and I have to say a bit addicting. All of a sudden I wanted to make more fun cards! My new obsession is learning vector design software. I found this great FREE app for the Mac, but I still have no clue as to how to use it. I've been messing around with text but that's about it. Since it's free it has no support at all...but it's fun!

Oh yea,
If you live in Pittsburgh and wanna come check out my workshop, you can sign up and pay for it HERE

This actually was shot yesterday in class. I've been messing around with my camera, like I mentioned before and so I just set it down and kept it going. I have the entire 75 minute class, although only about 10 min of that is me. The rest of the footage is the blanket that I'm sitting on and the pretty light in the background as I walk around most of the time, and very rarely demo anything.

The funny thing is that I chose to demo a couple of things so that I may be able to use the footage and being my dorky self, I did the demos with my back to the camera! Yep. I think that while getting my Masters in Theater I aced upstaging myself :p.

Basically in order to get these few second off of the camera I had to download 75 min worth of footage which took in total about 2 hrs, therefor, I was unable to post this yesterday! *sigh*

Using NaVloPoMo09 Day 16 as a bit of self promotion. Messing around with new ways of marketing my class...so there it is :D
If you live in Pittsburgh come on into class! Yoga Matrika 6pm, ALL LEVELS WELCOME!

A Bit of the Saturday Experience NaVloPoMo09 Day 14 from Elsie Escobar on Vimeo.

First I have to say that I'm pretty amazed I'm keeping up with this whole posting a video every day business for NaVloPoMo :) I think a lot has to do with my new camera and how well it's been working for me. The workflow for editing quick vids is very easy.

Today's video is just a little bit of my Saturday morning headed to teach :) By the way, get a load of the weather. It's been stunning these past few days. Lucky weather here in Pittsburgh, especially in November! I think these videos will warm my heart a bit when winter truly steps in.

Pretty easily, at least here in Pittsburgh :)

Green Circle Farm raises eggs, chicken, beef, lamb and turkey that are always:

  • Soy free
  • GMO free
  • Raised on pasture
  • Raised without antibiotics, hormones, pesticides, or herbicides

I signed up for their email list and every week you get a little email letting you know what's available that week and where you can go pick it up.
There's also an option to simply ask regarding delivery somewhere other than what's on their schedule.

I did just that. I emailed erica and she got back to me, simply asking for my address and voila, today she was here with my fresh local food before noon. How awesome is that?

Super great! Especially with the holiday season coming up...why not serve local produce AND support local economy (and families like you and me. Erica came with her 2 lovely little daughters in tow.)

Check out Green Circle Farms. It's absolutely worth it.

NaVloPoMo09 Day 13! Wooo hoooo I'm actually keeping up :)

Did I tell y'all that I got a new camera? Well, review is coming :D

Anyway,

This was my first attempt at creating a bit of video while I was teaching class. I obviously did NOT do a very good job at setting the camera. I did it crazy fast and didn't mess with it at all during class, hence my headless self ;) My motto when dealing with gear while teaching is that if it doesn't work swaha! I'm not going to fiddle with anything while teaching because...I'm teaching yoga for goodness sake!

I hope to supplement episodes of Elsie's Yoga Class: Live and Unplugged Podcast with bits of video of the classes that I record audio for, here and there...sometimes...perhaps....if it doesn't intrude too much with the flow of things :)

So, this was a bit of today's class over at the Pittsburgh Athletic Association. It was fun.

If you don't know about my yoga podcast, you can check out www.elsiesyogakula.com and/or you can subscribe in iTunes, just search for Elsie's Yoga Class. Oh, and did y'all know I have an iPhone app? Only $3.99 over 70+ audio classes in your pocket :)
