So over the past few days I've been doing some plotting. The only way I am going to be able to get a handle on this project is to break it down into tiny manageable pieces. I'm starting with formulating a Kickstarter proposal to hopefully get: the demonstration garden, the website, equipment for podcasting, and a hand full of other things funded. In researching past Kickstarter projects--the most successful ones, in addition to being fantastic ideas, have had really great prizes/gifts for their donors (one Projector had the savvy idea to post a link to a Flickr album of the prize packages). So needless to say this has me thinking a lot about the prizes I'd like to offer. Two ideas sprang from here:
The Worldbridge Mixtape
Growing up in Cleveland the vast majority of my closest friends were either musicians or artists. I'm utterly thankful to them for my diverse taste, judicious ear, and my deep love of music. Not to mention a distinct love for musicians in general. So I got to thinking--what if I talked to all my musical friends and asked if they would be open to donating a track to a compilation album, which would be a prize for particular levels of donations. In return they get exposure to my donors, and a page in the cd booklet for: a stort bio, member names, contact/booking info, and permanent real-estate in the "web of allies" section of the completed website. I am thinking minimum 10 tracks, max 15. Thus far 4 out of the 4 people I've talked to are definitely interested. So we shall see.

The Worldbridge Track of the Week
I don't know about you--but I use music religiously to keep me motivated. Over the past few years I have been collecting songs that really keep me going, as well as capture the essence of where I'm at existentially or psychologically in regard to this project. So every week I'm going to Share one of those songs with you my cherished reader, in hopes that the motivation becomes contagious and helps you get through what your going through and to succeed at what ever challenges you are facing--or at least learn well from the disappointments.
With that I think the song that truly captures where I'm at right now is "Jump" from Madonna's 2005, "Confessions on a Dance floor." I hope you enjoy and find the energy to keep it movin'.
WOW. Late entry for Mixtape of the year! This ultra-dense mix features over 250 beats from between 1999 and 2009. A decade of forward thinking Hip-hop in one handy mix. If that's not essential, then I don't know what is. Full tracklist and high quality mp3 download below.

I really this kid. He's talented as a producer and a writer. He's clever. And, he's still in college. While making this mixtape and videos and being on tour, he still manages not to miss any classes at Duke University. This kid is doing his thing and getting a lot of buzz in the industry. One Foot Out The Door is his new mixtape and features artists like Bun B and Kid Cudi, and has the cosign of Clinton Sparks nd DJ Benzi. The best part of it all is that it's FREE to download from iTunes. You can get it by clicking here. Looking fwd to this new one!
His first mixtape, Mike Posner and The Brain Trust - A Matter of Time, has a great mixture of genres with fantastic production and is free to download in iTunes and you can get it by clicking on the hyperlink.
ALSO, He has a ongoing videoblog at Vimeo.com that you can access here where you can follow the kid flying back forth from class at Duke University and then ATL for recording. Really intersting stuff because now a days you don't find kids that actually want to finish college, they just want to be in the flashing lights via there non existent talent. Here is his personal Vimeo page: Mike Posner on Vimeo.
AND...Check his Youtube page out. This is where I first found him and then started following him on twitter (@MikePosner) and so on. This is example of his production talent. Dude did this in his dorm at DUKE! Crazy!
TOKiMONSTA, the official first lady of Brainfeeder shows us that the current beatscene won’t be dominated by men only. TOKiMONSTA (Jennifer Lee) born and raised in the South Bay area of Los Angeles, was an unfocused pupil of classical piano. However, she has come to use this background to create vast textural soundscapes by utilizing live instruments, percussion, digital manipulation, and dusty vinyl. Through the creation of beats, she is able to fuse the sounds of the past with current music sensibilities into something advanced all while preserving old school vibes. Her live performance is exciting as well as astounding intricate using a laptop, drum pad, MIDI controller, and an analog Roland SP 404. She is fearless and energetic having performed with the likes of Flying Lotus, Daedelus, Nosaj Thing, Gaslamp Killer, and many other of her fellow beat makers. Known as Los Angeles' "Ambassador of Boogie Funk," Dãm-Funk represents the citizens of the Funkmosphere. Headquartered in the Leimert Park section of L.A., Dãm (pronounced: 'Dame' as in Damon) spent the last few years cultivating a musical renaissance rooted in the early-'80s styles known as Boogie, Modern Soul and Electro-Funk.
