strange and cassandra meet for the first time! but what of the fate of dr. linker?
My wife is awesome...let me count the ways.
She defines "work ethic". Industrious doesn't even come close to describing her. Here is an example. We just moved into a home that is a wee-bit smaller than our previous home. To take that one step further, I'm now working from home. To most of you that equates to hubby in the corner with a desk. But a pastor working at home also brings books with him—lots of books. All things considered, I knew it was time to purge as many non-essential books as I could. I pared things down by two criteria. First, is this a decent enough book that I would buy it again today? Second, have I read this book in the last year or do I plan on reading it in the coming year? Some books escaped my Procrustean bed. However, many did not—leaving me with a pile ready to be shipped off to the island of misfit books. And for my purposes, that island was a green receptacle that nice men dump curbside for me once a week. Enter my bride. She saw in those books a chance to help bolster the family budget. After consultation with book selling friends and some online research she decided to list them on Amazon. Low and behold, my cast off books began to make a decent profit. I saw fodder in those books. She saw dollar bills. An excellent wife who can find? Sure it took some work on her part. And that work was in addition to the care of four children under 7, the managing of our home, and being a church planters wife. And no, we're not going to become part-time book sellers. But it did give me pause to reflect on the gift that I had in my wife. It gave my often oblivious heart a chance to thank my God for giving me a wife who I do not deserve, who sees great value in working hard for our family—as much if not more than I do. She understands vocation and diligent work to the glory of God. She understand the gospel and how it frees her up to serve our family cheerfully and diligently. She knows that these little boys around her ankles with grow up to mimic her industry and work ethic as they become men. An excellent wife who can find? By God's grace, I have. It's really, *REALLY hard to believe that Sarah (Crawford) and I will be married this Saturday! Ours is a funny story, the details of which I'll get into at another time, in another post and perhaps on another blog. For now, I want to let the world know - WHY?
When we first "met" (on Facebook, actually we already knew each other, I promise to post the whole story later) Sarah and I both felt like there was something special between us. We spent our time "together" on Facebook, GoogleTalk/Video and on the phone. We were able to see and hear one another, but we couldn't touch. I had always believed that touching someone made all the difference, now I know that's not necessarily the case, at least not for us.
I used to tell Sarah, "This is our fairytale." I dreamed that life together would be...well, perfect. It turns out that life throws FAST, curve balls, hard and neither of us was prepared. I'm happy, proud and elated to report that we're fine and we've weathered MANY storms together.
Okay, back to the question - WHY?
I am marrying Sarah Crawford because...
...she believes in me, even when I don't believe in myself.
...she forgives me when I make mistakes, and forgives again, and again...and again.
...she's there for me when I'm sick, hungry, tired, needy, clingy, angry, sad, happy.
...she's beautiful.
...she makes me feel so good [about myself] through compliments and encouragement.
...she's trusting - she trusts me.
...she stands by me in any [and every (crazy)] decision I make.
...she's willing to let me try new things, even when she might not understand my reason for so doing.
...she loves Jennifer (my daughter).
...she has faith that I'll meet her needs, and provide for our family in the way that our family needs.
...she's an excellent cook.
...she truly loves me, unconditionally.
...she's willing to do whatever it takes to make this marriage, our life together - work!
That's why I love Sarah (Crawford). (Visit our tumblog here - http://bruington.tumblr.com)
I love you Sarah. I hope after reading this you know how much I love, and care about you. I'm so grateful to have you in my life. I smile when I think of all the fun times we've had together. I look forward to many days, weeks, months, years ahead with you, and our family.
my dearest readers, i call upon those of you andl ike you to spreadm y messege far and wide, to give the ultimate in humiliations to a man most deserving, through the simple act of spreading the picture i will post here later tonight. i call upon those of you who seek vengeance upon your tormentors, to use this picture as a example of the power that we all hold dear to our hearts and minds. and as a single unit call out to the great masses of those that would silence us because they feel morei mportant then us and shout with a unflinching voice:
"NO MORE WILL I COWER TO YOUR INSULTS! NO MORE WILL YOU FEEL MIGHTIER THAN I!"
i wish nothing more then the absolute destruction of this mans mind, for the hell he has put me through, what act you ask? through the act of the very same hting i am about to do, i have done nothing more then speak my mind about the ills of others. and in turn they have accused me, ridiculed me, and pointed out my flaws, and in turn, i will do the very same to them on a much grander, and much more broader scale. i want you to spread this the veyr same way you have done with my first attempt to reach you all. i want you to do much more then this, i want the world to know just how much of a douche this man, this monster is. and for his grievance against me, he shall know the fury of our collective ager against the antagonists of our minds.
i call upon the smart who were made to feel inferior because of their stature, the special needs students who were pushed around because of their disabilities, the poor souls who were made to endure their so called friends infruiating behavior while they had to suffer the consequences of their "friends actions, i call upon the weak who were bullied, the strong who were abused, the frat rejects and the hazing victims, the spreaders of the word and the mouths of many networks to turn their full attention to this great and powerful strike against a bully who has not complied with my demands to remove a so called joke picture from his profile, after i was forced to do so through death threats, stalking, and a horrid series of emails that i had to endure and read or face the consequences of not reading them.
i call upon those that have felt the sting of defeat undeserved, the sting of rejection because you were not at what they percieved as equality. i call to the office workers that have to work on saterdays when they would much rather be spending time at home with their families, of the victims of cheating spouses, of the husbands of volitile abuse wives and vice wersa, i call out to those that wish to feel like they have made a difference in this world, not because i ask you to do so for your own sake, but because you wish to help yourself feel better then you have ever fucking felt in the longest time.
i want each and every one of you, even those that never had any experience at the hands of bullies or humiliation, to spread this through out the web, through out every perceivable way of communication and show that strength alone is nothing, but strength in numbers, and of vast networks can deal a mighty and significant blow to the misguided and troublesome few who wish to disturb our peaceful ways because they feel they must for whatever reason they must.
my name is morgan edward james gavin, and you my dearest readers have just taken a step towards a greater world. not just a step, a full blown jog into one of the greatest things you will ever know in your life!
my messege is simple, neat and precisely aimed towards one goal. to get the picture of me off his profile, to epicly, and infinitely up him, to end the tyranny, and to strike a blow most unexpected towards one that has the intelligence of a fox news reporter... but not just any fox news reporter, the greatest, sickest, most annoying one of them all.
nancy fucking grace.
i have one question to ask of you all, and one question alone.
do you wish to take part in this? do you wish to help get revenge on someone who is long past due his humiliation, past the unending thirst for a vindication of proportions so big, so grand, so uniquely planet wide, that there will be no escape from it no matter where he turns? i want t shirts made, i want mugs and caps and polls, i want you all to go after this with a ravenous thirst, with a hunger for this one mans ego to be taken down, that you are filled with a lust and excitement for it. this is your finest hour, and long will it be remembered for the epicness of which you have helped spread it.
but this is not about revenge against one man alone. i highly encourage you to take steps against your own tormentors in ways that will not lead to your arrest, i encourage you to be smart, to be strategic in your plans whatever they may be. i am a man of simple compassion, simple rules, and a simple mind set that that screams out for the directive that we are all able to speak our minds regaurding anything we wish. it is in the actions that we take within the context of what we speak that makes all the difference. but more then that, you must make to where it is untracable to you personally, have fear, take steps of what you will. but be throrough in your tormentors humiliation. only through the undermining of ones confidence in his own abilities, can you truly have ownership of his loyalty.
that being said, this iwll be, the greatest "prank" ever. but before we can make it so, we must each in our ways, rally the troops, point them in the direction, and let loose the dogs of war upon those that would cause us harm. but also, be sure not include anyone who is not directlyat the heart of your own personal downfalls. the last thing we need is a lawsuit on our hands. they say that a picture is worth one thousand words, well, when i post the picture, i want those of you that are able to translate, to translate into your native language, telling them to spread this around as well. i want you, my dearest readers, my dearest visitors, to rally your social circles, and let them in on this. because its going to be epic, its going to give those that humiliated us a taste of their own medicine one trillion fold, and none of us will ever have to become the targets of others agressions because they think that we are not what they consider "their level".
Baltimore County Police Helicopter Foxtrot (by cooder70 on Flickr)
One of the earliest commenters on my site was someone professing to know the woman whose fiance proposed marriage to her by staging a dangerous, ill-advised, and costly stunt to propose to her. The young man, a relative of mildly powerful Maryland Senator Ben Cardin, and a politician in his own right, took twenty days to finally reimburse the city of Baltimore for the cost of using the officers and their helicopter, pictured above, to stage a fake drug raid in Baltimore Harbor.
Now, finally, over three and a half months since the August 7 incident, a Baltimore police sergeant is being charged:
Baltimore City police say a sergeant who authorized the use of the department's marine unit as part of a Maryland lawmaker's marriage proposal has been charged with misconduct.
On Aug. 7, police boarded a boat Delegate Jon Cardin and his fiancee were on with friends in the Inner Harbor and pretended to search for contraband until Cardin popped the question. A police helicopter flew overhead.
Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said Friday that an internal investigation into the event found that the sergeant, who was not identified, "improperly exercised his discretion" in the incident. He said the matter must go to a police trial board.
Cardin reimbursed police $300 for the incident, gave $1,000 to the department's mounted unit and has repeatedly apologized.
Ah, the privileges of youth and love. Power and money can get you out of anything in a filthy state like Maryland. Nothing will happen, except for the same slap on the wrist that young Cardin received. Thirteen hundred dollars is what to a wealthy political family? How about community service, probation, a night in the pokey, and a ten thousand dollar fine for wasting the efforts of so many law enforcement personnel? You can get into more trouble by calling 911 to ask for a cheeseburger than you can for scaring the living crap out of your fiance with angry drug cops.
I have repeatedly told the children that, since Father is no longer living in Northern Virginia at Seizure World, we're leaving. I don't care what it takes--we're leaving Maryland and we're not coming back. It's like living in a toilet, only with more screaming idiots, corruption, bad stores, stumbling drunks and less blue water.
