Stay tuned.

Egy kis móka a végére tegnapról:

Ezen a képen ma többször is hangosan felnevettem, a tegnapi DVSC-Liverpool meccs egyik jelenete van megmagyarázva. Kabaré, komolyan mondom. KA-BA-RÉ.

Oh, how I wish Alonso never left. But he wanted to. So you can't stop a player from going if he wants to. And yes, there's the small matter of the 30 million squid that you get from 'em Real Madrid's pockets and all. But am wondering whether the gamble of buying a replacement, Aquaman, which couldn't play from the start, was a wise risk to take in the first place. It's November, and it's all doom and gloom. Out of the champions league. Nowhere near providing a decent push for the title, how many (was it 9 games?) without a win or some rubbish statistic like that. How much different would it have been if Aquilani was fit from the start? We will never know.

You'll never walk alone.

So, Liverpool are out of the champions league already? Somehow, even though I am sorely disappointed with the outcome, I guess I am just not surprised anymore. Honestly speaking, in my own opinion, we have been absolutely crap this season. Injuries have hit us badly. We have sorely missed players like Torres and Stevie G. Our defence is in an absolutely shambolic state at this point of time. Our midfield does not look the force that it is without Alonso pulling the strings in the center of the park. It's shocking that once Torres got injured, there as absolutely no other decent striker to come in. Ngog, inexperienced. Voronin, porn star. Kuyt, not really a striker anymore. Babel, playaz haterz. I just dunno.

Still trying to keep the faith though. You'll never walk alone!

Out of the champions league and out of the title hunt. Hard for Liverpool fans to deal with at the end of April, let alone end of November.

After last season's second half performance many predicted Liverpool to kick on and win the Premier League. Although I didn't share their optimism I certainly didn't expect them to struggle as they have done.

So where do Liverpool go from here? It can seem like this season can't be over quick enough for Liverpool and their fans. A Europa League win and FA Cup might go some way to appease matters but in my opinion they would be scant consolation.

What Liverpool MUSN'T do is panic. I wouldn't go out and splash the cash in January, not that they can anyway, and I wouldn't sack Benitez; he's got proven pedigree at the European level.

What I would do is start utilising the squad to its capacity. The season is pretty much over in terms of their major preseason goals so it seems to me to be a good time to blood some youngsters and therefore make an honest assessment of what areas need improving in the summer.

Secondly, I would get behind Rafa. I don't mean the fans because they've always been and will be there for the manager. But Mr. Hicks and Mr. Gillet need to, quickly. Or they need to figure out ownership ASAP.

This summer all I can see happening is Real Madrid coming and making a ridiculous offer for Rafa. If the current owners are still in place I don't see anything but them accepting the offer. Although Gerrard will never leave and Torres won't for some time it will be interesting to see the turbulence that will follow should Rafa go back to Madrid.

Watch this space because this story is far from over.

After the weird weather lately with floods and intermittent sunshine, I found this view particulary pleasing this evening:

This is one of many Squares in Liverpool. I might have to start a gallery for them.

This guy's got it all.  He laughs, he cries, he sings.

Not sure exactly how he fits in to the whole Xmas thing,* but an impressive piece of "machinery" nonetheless.  And quite entertaining, too.

* This was filmed in Liverpool shortly after the Xmas lights were turned on.
