Boxee Twitter Suggestions

just a note: I'm not a software dev nor a designer.

2 column - layout equal width but expanding the overall screen coverage slightly so that only 15px are around the side and bottom of the dual column content.

OR

Tabs - have a tab on the right of the screen so that you can access the compose, DM, @ replys and anything else on a screen away from the main Twitter stream like other Boxee Apps are setup.

Left Column / Main Page- Twitter stream with timestamps. timestamps are important for people who don't follow lots of folks so they know if it's from 10 minutes ago or last night.

Right Column / Tabs - Compose box at top with character count. @ replys underneath that and DMs under that. All with timestamps.
better highlighting of links at the top of Twitter page when the cursor is over the links.

Current Overall Notes - blue on blue for the right side trending topics is very hard to read from the couch even though the Twitter stream is plain as day.

Twitter stream text being 2pts or so smaller from current size.

Trending topics should be just a link at the top because w/o explaination of most trending topics people don't know what is going on. giving trending topics it's own page and importing the description that Twitter uses on their search homepage would work if that is available in the API

The more I've thought about it the move the tab unique Boxee style design would be completely awesome. I hope this feedback helps.

guessing that this is going to be a lot of experimentation.

the idea for the lightweight controls is to see the thumbnail of the last bit of media whatever it might be (combiview) in a flyout list along the bottom that the user either activates by clicking to unhide it or if they select any of the icons on the map itself. if they click on a thumbnail and it is an audioboo then the audio will play in the controller on the right handside of the slider with profile avatar and hyperlink back to the users profile on audioboo.

the dropdown is for different event dates when the map starts to get busy. i'm guessing we will look at clustering when the map really starts to have a lot of content displayed all over it. we are hoping to have bambuser, youtube, audioboo and audioboo fully functional on the map before the 28th. i'm waiting for some t-mobile sims in the post so i can do some more geo media in the park. i'll probably head down tomorrow to get some done and get some exercise done at the same time maybe!
