Kanye stretches as an actor in this Spike Jonze short
This is interesting. Liked seeing this finally after reading about it a while ago. The camera really lets us float along with the action. Lovely to look at, in regards to the shots and lighting plus the acting is really strong. Didn't know Kanye had it in him. Even though it gets a little crazy at about 9 minutes in, the animation is supreme and super realistic, and the expressions on the little guy's face make it all worth it. Especially when he backs away when the implement of destruction is offered to him. Wow.
Q:
Is Kanye West showing true potential as an Actor, or is he sadly too well-prepared to portray an all-too familiar character in a role not entirely unlike himself?
A:
ALL of the above--and I've got a HOT feature film SCRIPT for this guy...
THIS is social branding (Kanye West) and transmedia storytelling--communicating a message while perpetuating open and ongoing discussion, discourse and dialogue. This installment will undoubtedly resonate with his core audience and shape the general public's perception and opinions about Kanye West.
What better way to stay relevant??
Jacked from Cheo H. Coker's Facebook Page.
I have friends who are serious lovers of Spike Jonze. Some of the things Spike creates are scary spooky and turn off my senses but some of the things he creates are little masterpieces of beauty, its always one or the other with me. So to my surprise when I saw this video being tweeted I went from one to the other as the course of the short film played to its end. By the time it had gotten to 4:36 it was entirely to hard for me to keep watching it, I felt embarrassed and sad for him like really really sad (because well I don't think this plot or acting is a stretch for him at all...real life? maybe?)

One thing Kanye West is not, is predictable. He may be a jackass (thanks, Barack), but he knows it, and he makes his less-than-stellar reputation work for him in a new short film. We Were Once a Fairytale was directed by music video legend Spike Jonze, and is apparently spin-off of an as-yet-to-be-released video for West's "See You in My Nightmares". The song can be heard playing in the background. "I made all the notes!"
Jonze has a new movie coming out (finally), too. Where the Wild Thing Are opens this week in North-America and Taiwan; here in Holland we have to wait untill mid-January. I won't give away the ending to his Kanye short (I wouldn't know what to say, really!) but it looks like the director had some fabric left over.

Kanye steals the show... literally. Brought to you by Retro Plus Apparel.
Kanye would NOT be happy.
Why the hell is Obama getting a Nobel Peace Prize on something he hasn't done yet?
I didn't even know they can give those out like that.
Well in that case I vouch to cure cancer, can I expect mine through the mail this week?
