About three years ago I stopped subscribing to the Sunday paper. Everything I need to read is available online so I didn't feel the need to receive a massive paper on my doorstep when 85% of it went unread. The one thing I missed were the weekly grocery sales circulars.

Shop Rite grocery stores in Connecticut have a new free iPhone application that makes shopping their weekly sales even easier - and you don't have to subscribe to any newspapers to get the flier!.

ShopRite Weekly Specials (free). This application works with all ShopRite stores in Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. It connects automatically via Wi-Fi or cellular data and displays the stores' weekly sales flier. Create a list of items you need using either  the ShopRite web site (which offers an area to maintain a shopping list )  -- or  on your iPhone or iPod Touch.

Lists created on the ShopRite web site are synced to your iPhone/Touch - and vice versa.

If you're traveling then you can use the GPS on your iPhone 3GS to locate a store that's close to you (set a radius of 5 to 50 miles).

Nice
- free
- uses GPS to find location
- maintains grocery list with pricing

How About Adding
- a place to scan in the bar code on your ShopRite Plus  card and have it usable via the application
- aisle numbers in the shopping list
- push notifications for when an item goes on sale that you regularly purchase

For all  iPhone users seeking the Notes App of their dreams... Below is a list of brief "emoji" ratings for all the Notes apps I have tried or checked out so far. This list may save you some  time (and ) in the AppStore.

You will need emojis on your iPhone to read this list.  (If you don't have emojis yet, see how to get them Free, here:  http://paradisemobi.posterous.com/how-to-get-free-emojis-for-iphone )

Intuit launched QuickBooks 2010 on Monday, including the must-have feature of recent software platforms, an app store.

Both QuickBooks Pro and Premier 2010 include the new Intuit App Center, which allows users to download plug-ins to help users grow their businesses, manage their workflow and customers, and reduce costs.

Intuit said Monday that the new products are available from the company's Web site, and or from major retailers on Oct. 7. Intuit QuickBooks Accounting Pro Edition 2009 will cost $199.95, and Intuit QuickBooks Accounting Premier Edition 2009 will cost $399.95, complete with its standard array of industry-specific assistance.

The new app store is the software's most intriguing feature, and Intuit claims that more than 25 apps are currently housed inside the store. Although users can peruse the list of apps at their leisure, users will need to sign up with Intuit to even see how much they cost, let alone download a free trial. Many, however, work with Quickbooks data, Intuit said, eliminating the need for double-data entry.

Intuit claims that a new ability to add and edit multiple list entries is one of the new software package's strongest features, saving the time that was previously required to edit the entries manually. Forms can also be customized even more than in previous versions, and users can work with Intuit's Creative Solutions team for further customization.

The "Company Snapshot" feature can now be customized, Intuit said, and the list of available reports is now better organized, with the ability to save favorites.

In addition to the app store, businesses can now scan documents and/or checks into QuickBooks; in the case of checks, the scanned information can be sent directly to the bank, online. A beta program also will let consumers target email campaigns.

Finally, Intuit said that the company sliced the installation time in half.

Both GV Mobile and VoiceCentral have been yanked form the Apple App store. According to Sean Kovas, the developer behind GV Mobile, Apple called him to mention that GV Mobile was being pulled from the App store for duplicating functionality of the iPhone.

Is it just me or is the mere existence of an iPhone app called "The Moron Test" --- enough of a test.

Simply buying this proves you're a moron....save your money.

Apologies to morons everywhere.
