I saw this movie this afternoon and honestly had only seen the trailer.  Brad Pitt gets top billing in Quentin Tarantino's "Inglourious Basterds," but Austrian actor Christoph Waltz may have turned in the most memorable performance as a Nazi "Jew Hunter."  He damn near makes the movie and I watched the movie and kept on thinking that I enjoyed having a villain that you were continuously trying to figure out.  The movie had gore and violence but it was done in true Tarantino taste.  With this movie don't expect it to live up to the history of the time line of WW 2.  Tarantino has written his own feeling on what he feels should be an interesting movie.  I dare say, in my opinion, that this might be the best movie of the summer.  GI Joe was a letdown, Transformers 2 was decent but didn't live up my expectations, District 9 kept my interest but I left feeling just mildly interested, and then finally Inglorious Bastards I think takes the cake. Now about 80% of the movie is spoken in either french or german and there are a lot of subtitles but this was mainly due to Tarantino wanting to make the movie feel real and genuine.  That he did well.  Go see it!
