Blog Post: Day 10 (2:20pm update), Rose Study

I seem to be getting the hang of two color blending and found my groove.

The orange rust color is probably one of my favorite colors.

• Continuing use of soft compressed charcoal

• Continuing to blend orange conte' in shadows to bring out color

• Still finding unique patterns

Today I begin another drawing.
I took the original photo of the rose.
Mixed Media; pencil, charcoal, black & orange conté, India ink.

Progress photos to come throughout the day.

• Photo 1, added 12:00pm
• Photo 2, added 12:20pm
• Photo 3, added 01:30pm; working basic sketch and shape
• Photo 4, added 02:30pm; still basic sketch and shape
• Photo 5, added 03:10pm; basic sketch and shape, starting basic shading
• Photo 6, added 04:00pm; basic shading continues; starting to find unique patterns

Done for Day 1, starting to run out of light
