HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL OF YOU!!!!
EAT / ENJOY / DRIVE SAFELY

gina says...

This is in no way what my Thanksgiving meal is going to look like. In fact, I've never, ever in my life had a Thanksgiving meal like this one where the food was served on real China and everyone probably goes around the table reciting why they're thankful.

When I was growing up - and when my Grandma was still alive and my Auntie lived nearby my parents - we'd go over to my Auntie's house. Her dinner table would groan under the weight off all the food placed on it. There was the traditional Turkey, stuffing, yams, mashed potatoes and gravy. But my Grandma and Aunties would also make Filipino food such as pancit, lumpia and dinaguan (or "chocolate meat" which is actually pork blood stew). And there were other random dishes too like lasagna and leche flan.

My auntie lives far now and my parents don't want to make the drive so I celebrate at my parent's house and my mom serves all my favorites: ham, stuffing, potato salad and corn. I do eat turkey but I prefer ham. Also, I like to think I'm sparing a turkey for one day, however that pig's got another thing coming for him. After eating plates-full of food, I make room for pumpkin pie and settle in for the post-food coma to kick in. Ahhhhh.

Tomorrow, what are you reflecting on and giving thanks for??

Obviously I'm thankful for food. I love eating. Oh, and I'm happy that I have an eating partner who also gets busy and likes eating ethnic with me. He sometimes buys too, which helps when you're unemployed (read: broke).

I'm thankful that I have an awesome roommate who doesn't hate my guts because I do dumb shit like get so drunk that I rip into her unopened box of croutons which she's been saving for the right moment to indulge in. (I did buy a new box to replace the one I opened - I'm not a bitch when sober.)

I'm thankful for my friends that put up with my crazy meltdowns and still continue to cheer me on.

Beaches el gato who follows me around the house like a puppy. I don't care if he follows me just because he wants me to pet him and feed him. He purrs for me and meows when I call his name. That's sweet.

Thankful for the health and happiness of my family and friends. Everyone is doing OK.

Oh and even though not making any money sucks, I'm extremely thankful that I no longer have to go to a job where they hated me so much, that it made me hate myself and devalued my self-worth.

Hmmm, this post makes me feel good....Lately, I've been feeling so tragic over minor issues that I can't change. Brushing my shoulders off right now because feeling pitiful is ugly and boring.

Every holiday season passes me by too quickly. I get irritated that stores don't allow me to enjoy Halloween and Thanksgiving first because they're already ramming Christmas down my throat. So I shut out the holiday spirit and when I'm finally ready to take a moment to appreciate it, it's the end of the season and it's time to jump into a new year.

Not this year though. Last night, I went into Waikiki - which was bustling with consumerism and holiday cheer - and now I'm ready to give St.Nick and baby Jesus a bear-hug.

Have you been to the Royal Hawaiian Center recently? The facelift the Center received is amazing. If you haven't seen it's new look you should definitely check it out. I'm a sucker for holiday decorations. The Royal Hawaiian has the typical elaborately wrapped fake presents under a hugely lit Xmas tree, but they also have gigantic lanterns hanging in the trees -- it's not holiday-ish, just lovely.

My absolutely favorite window display that I saw last night was at Louis Vuitton on the corner of Kalakaua and Lewers. I fell in love: the simple Christmas lights forming the LV monogram stole my heart at first twinkle. Can I live in that window display forever?

Looking at the LV lights makes me nostalgic for a holiday trip to San Francisco a couple years ago. I loved shopping and eating around the area surrounding Union Square. Walking around, watching people pose for a picture at the 80-foot Macy's tree, being wow'd by the way the Macy's and Saks lights lit up the night....I remember feeling so happy.

More holiday window displays to enjoy here....New York City holiday windows  I wish I could see these in person; I'd stand in the cold for hours staring in awe at every detail. My favorites are the Bergdorf Goodman windows.

happy holidays.

Логично наверное, что кроме торрентов его нигде не найти. Совершенно случайно наткнулся на сиквел шикарного кино про японских гопников! Downloading :) Если будет на уровне первого, то это счастье.
