The LA Times has posted an article about the annual surge in Google searches for the work "turkey". Interesting, yes, but this is the visual they used to represent it. Boring. C'mon, LA Times, put a little more effort into this, instead of pasting a screen grab from Google Trends.
Personally I liked the New York Times' Thanksgiving visuals better.
The New York Times has been providing some awesome visualizations as they continue to expand their presence online. After last years Super Bowl, the Times produced a visualization of tweets from throughout the game.
With Thanksgiving upon us, and hundreds of thousands of Americans turning to the internet for recipes, the New York Times has compiled popular thanksgiving recipe searches into this fun interactive graphic. It features several maps corresponding to various recipe searches which shade the states based on the amount of searches. It's no surprise that sweet potato pie is more popular in the south, but some of the other results may surprise you. Check it out.Just having a play around with some logo design for one's self. Not too sure where I'm going to use this - suppose I could get some business cards done and throw them at random passers by on the street.
