A couple days ago, I recommended the dark Firefox theme Black Stratini. I recommended it too quickly because I've already found a better dark theme called RulerDark; RulerDark simply has higher aesthetic value than Black Stratini - I also like how the font-color is not overly dark like it is in Black Stratini (which makes it difficult to read what's typed on the screen at times.)

Anyway, be sure to check RulerDark out!

To all of you people out there who are still using a clunky old Java IRC chat-box on your site - I urge you to switch to QwebIRC.

QwebIRC uses Ajax, is light on resources, is open-source and can easily be embedded on your website.

Maybe it is the four hours sleep in the last 48hrs.

I'm not really sure what started the cascade of events that my poor soul decided to undertake this morning - maybe what triggered it first was receiving of a simple present from a remote friend in america, the arrival which to my house came with a thud like ransom note sound as it hit the floor as it was injected into my letterbox. It brought a smile and a memory. better times. useful items! - now travelling with me everywhere. bamboo cutlery. a good reminder to keep it lean and keep it green(er)

Of course it could have been the little exercise over to tamworth with me yawning away at my three hours sleep i got last night geo-tagging bits of tamworth so we had a nice geo map of the walk from the train station and back for the people that were staying over the night before getting the greenbus over to conkers. That walk actually woke me up briefly although our catchup meeting was pretty much the worst one we have ever had. I needed sleep and my brain had officially shutdown.

Perhaps it was the random out of the blue Skype call from a friend of mine that i had not had a video chat with since he left 14 months ago.
He had decided enough was enough with the uk and his situation and after applying for a visa to australia bit the bullet and decided to move over there lock, stock and barrel. We spent the next hour discussing social media, fibre, conkers, relationships, beer, dongles, 3g, life balance and the fact that i was slack not been to see him yet. This question i might add was put to me after previously seeing a huntsmen 'baby' spider the size of my head on his facebook page in his garage. Yeah, righto - i'll give that a miss just for the moment. He will be back over here in april. I'll probably see him first then what with my cash situation as it is right now. Reminds me i hope i do get to sxsw next year - i miss my stateside people badly. good friends.

Then i had a heart to heart over google chat with sam - we got big stress and problems between us right now with a lot of areas of our lives and we are battling through them apart and together at the same time. Our main priority of course is our ella and we are keeping focused on doing the right thing by her - it has been very tough since i have been out of work and the conkertu.com social stuff (however light i have been on that) has been a blessing while i have been looking around for other work.

But something came out of today, the multi facetted beacon of determination that we possess as human beings, the struggle to never give up and to get back in and give it that extra bump and push, edging ever closer to the possible. switching the mode switch up a notch, being thankful for what is around us now. what we are access too and the constant reminder that we can do more. and should.

So, thank you saturday - you were an enlightening day. You reminded me that this while this planet maybe flat those people that matter the most are around no matter what the distance maybe. Onwards. ..

[GOOD]

Enjoyable quirky love story. Feels like an indy but it’s mainstream themes keep it grounded.

Brought in 3 cans of food for the Long Beach Food Drive to Shelter Surf Shop and got 10% off any non-surf related item. A new pair of TOMS is doubly good, don'tcha think?
