Gmail: Send attachments while offline

For all Gmail users, Offline Gmail now supports attachments sending whether you are online or offline.You’ll be able to attach all types of files except inline images, which are images in the body of the email. When you have Offline Gmail enabled, Google says that mail now goes through the outbox when you’re online or offline, allowing Gmail to capture all attachments regardless of internet connections.

If you haven't tried Offline Gmail, visit Gmail Labs tab on the top right corner of your screen follow these instructions to get started:

1. Select Enable next to Offline Gmail.
2. Click Save Changes.
3. After your browser reloads, you'll see a new "Offline" link in the upper righthand corner of the Gmail page, next to your username. Click this link to start the offline set up process and download Gears if you don't already have it.

How to Send Images within Message Text using Google Gmail

1. Enable the Settings > Labs plug-in Inserting images by Kent T and save changes.

2. In Rich Text mode and the cursor where the image is to go, click the Insert Image icon and drag an image onto the Choose button or click to Choose File from My Computer or use a Web Address. The images here, have been dragged straight from the Skitch screen capture window.

3. Clicking on the image show an image sizing or removal option:

Hassle Update: Third posting. I've added the Posterous tag ((nogallery)) to the subject line because following an HTML link edit on the original post (which didn't use the tag), only the first image remained. For the second post, I tried copy and pasting from the Gmail sent folder which lost all the images after posting. @Bad#words@. It's a load easier to place images within text in Apple Mail and do a Message > Send Again if it goes wrong.

FOLDER BUDDY GMAIL APP: Must Have!!

                        

What a blessing this app is!  No more tolerating a disorganized file system in your iphone gmail/email because it's such a pain to have to stop and go log in at the gmail website to add, rename, delete, or move a folder!!

Now with this app, every time the urge strikes to straighten up your folders (by adding a new one, or moving, renaming, deleting a folder), it's a piece of cake to open this baby & do your thing ASAP!

If you use Gmail with your iPhone mail app, don't struggle another day without this app!!  I love it and use it every day (I have a lot of gmail boxes!)

Iso kiitos GMailille!

Tässä kuuna eräänä onnistuin säätämään itselleni
mutt-sähköpostiohjelmani asetukset täysin pieleen. Tietenkin vanhaan
tuttuun tapaan kun ohjelma jotain kysyy, pitää aina vain painaa
entteriä ja "yes yes yes", lukematta tietenkään mitä ohjelma edes
kysyy. Tämän seurauksena menetin useamman kuukauden sähköpstit
postilaatikostani. Harmikseni huomasin myös, että eräs oikeasti
tähdellinen viesti oli myös mennyt siinä sivussa ennen kuin sain sen
tulostettua paperille, kuten oli tarkoitus.

Varsinaisesti yhtään viestiä ei poistunut, mutta onnistuin siirtämään
jokaisen sähköpostini postilaatikosta omalle koneelleni niin että
palvelimelle ei jäänyt kopioita. Ja kun katsoin postilaatikkoani
GMailissa niin eihän siellä tietenkään mitään enää ollut. Myöhemmin
kun asensin koneeni uusiksi, olin tietenkin unohtanut ottaa kyseistä
tärkeää viestiä talteen, tai ainakaan en ole muistanut katsoa onko
jossain jäänyt pölyttymään tar-pakettia kyseisen koneen kotikansion
sisällöstä joka sisältäisi kyseisen postilaatikon sisällön.

Tänään kuitenkin GMailia selatessa huomasin vasemmasta laidasta
postilaatikoiden listasta "5 lisää"-kohdan. Katselin huvikseni mitä
siellä on, ja siellä oli kohta "Kaikki viestit". Vilkaisin huvikseni
tätä toimintoa ja katsoin vanhinta viestiä joka oli kirjattu
tammikuulle. Eli sille ajalle kun avasin GMailiin osoitteeni omalle
domainilleni. Selailin viestejä eteenpäin ja havaitsin että täällä
laatikossa oli vielä tallessa kesän aikana postilaatikostani hävittämä
tärkeä sähköposti.

Onneksi vielä sattui olemaan jäänyt talteen kyseinen viesti, joten nyt
sen voin vielä tulostaa itselleni paperille.
