The Kindle platform is getting updated! Very good. The enhanced features include:
• Longer Battery Life: Now read for up to 1 week on a single charge with wireless on, a significant improvement from the previous battery life of 4 days.
• Built-in PDF Reader: Your Kindle can now display PDF documents natively. Native PDF support allows you to carry and read all of your personal and professional documents on the go.
• Adjustable Screen Rotation: The Kindle screen can now manually rotate between portrait and landscape views.
Nothing to do on the device, the update is pushed down automatically via Whispernet.
We've certainly seen plenty of hackintoshes in our time, but Will Urbina's OS Xbox Pro is also one of the cleanest casemods we've ever seen. Built so that Will can run Final Cut Pro for his job as a video editor, the machine is based on an EFI-X hackintosh dongle, and inside it sports an 2.93GHz Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550s paired with an NVIDIA GeForce 9800GT card, 8GB of RAM, an 16GB SSD, and four traditional hard drives: one each to boot Windows 7 and OS X, and two 500GB 7,200rpm drives in a RAID0 array for video editing. Will says his total parts cost was under $1,500 for a system that matches a $4,500 Mac Pro, but that obviously doesn't include the value of his time.
No, I'm not going to do a comparison of phones but I would like to do a mobile phone plan pricing comparison. Here's mine for Sprint to date. It's $69.99 per month but I get a company discount (if you work for a company, you should too) so my final bill usually is around $61.00 per month. This plan includes 450 land line minutes. Who calls land lines these days though? The rest includes UNLIMITED mobile-to-mobile, free nights and weekends, UNLIMITED texts, and UNLIMITED data. So what are you paying per month for your smartphone? So I spend about $732 per year for my cell phone plan. Are you spending over $1000? $1200? $1500? Are you getting the same deals in regards to unlimited texts, data, etc?

The Dell Adamo XPS is out featuring a 1.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor. You looking for thin? This is the thinnest in the world coming in at just 9.9 mm. Price? $1,800. That is Macbook territory. But hey...the new Adamo has Windows 7. That should prevent people from flocking to Apple, right?
